Are they cringe-worthy or a welcomed addition?

I think they're two of the most entertaining sports analysts / personalities today and First Take's ratings are through the roof.

I say welcomed addition. I know a lot of people think they're annoying though.

I believe we'll be able to skip these with we choose, so to me, it's whatever.

If I had a choice between these two and having 2k's terrible story/cut scenes...I would take these two, probably. And they don't really bother me the way they do most people. I think people take them too damn seriously and get worked up over nothing.

But how do you have First Take and not have Molly Q. in there with them. SMH. I would have actually watched the scenes then, lol.

Thought it was cool the first time I saw it, added a nice touch. But as soon as it came on the 2nd time I was begging to skip it. Stephen A. Smith is unwatchable on regular TV. Max I normally like but on First Take I just hate that show and format so they get real annoying real fast. I'm curious as to how that show still does in the ratings. I don't know a single person who enjoys watching and I really don't bother watching ESPN anymore outside of 30 for 30s and live sporting events.

It's not really meant to be the most intelligent form of programming. I'll admit, sometimes I'll tune in just because I find it amusing, and because I don't really want to think or take something seriously. It does well because they've got personality.

I've known about Joy Taylor for a while. As you can from my avatar tell I root for Miami sports, and I was a regular listener of the morning radio show she was a part of down there. It was sad when she left but it was like, cool, one of the local folk made it big time to the national stage.

Not cringe at all. I love the live clips and live footage in the menu screens. I missed that from some of the older bball games we got.


I don't listen to these too, but it's a nice added feature just to add to the ESPN presentation.

Most people take First Take and it's related cast far too seriously. I think it's a fun addition, adds a nice touch.


But Molly should've definitely been in there too

Stephen A smith is like the best person on TV so I don't have a problem with him at all. Max is ok on the other hand.

I'm not sure how much depth they put into this in 'The One'. Will this be like 2k where only shown in rookie season. I feel this will be kind of repetitive.

But I do like the EA is trying with this. Usually most games just mo-cap, but this makes it seem more realistic. I like that NBA Live is taking full advantage of the ESPN license, unlike Madden. This bolds well for their future if they can keep adding aspects from ESPN like more studio updates, overlays, drafts. This adds more immersion than just a generic presentation.

I like this for the One. My early thought was that 'The One' was going to be very bland year One. I thought it would just be "Play game and advance" mixed with Streetball/Drew. But this is a start. Will it be more than just a occasional cut scene from First Take? I don't want a forced storyline, but more than just only playing games. So I hope they keep up with messages and interaction with other stars.

I hope in the full game I can turn off the caption (subtitles). It is very annoying seeing that covering up the ESPN bottom line through out the First Take broadcast.

Maybe a developer can chime in on this.

Agree with you on everything here. The more inclusion of ESPN the better. Brings me back to NFL 2k5 and their use of NFL Primetime.

The funny thing is that I never watch First Take...I've seen maybe 1 or 2 clips of the show back when it was Stephen A and Skip Bayless...but I never bothered tuning in.....UNTIL I saw them in this demo and I decided to tune into the show today lol.

Would have preferred Jalen and Jacoby. I tend to avoid First Take, Undisputed (Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless), and Colin Cowherd because it all just gets too serious. I like the information. I don't know why they have to get so angry.

Jalen & Jacoby and Dan Lebotard talk about the same stories and point out the same issues, but somehow avoid turning it into a peacock show of who is more right. They seem to have fun talking about sports, and I like their senses of humor.

Sports, for me, are fun and relaxing. Stephen A. Smith is the opposite of that.
