Is this the best 1v1 Defensive system ever put into a basketball game?

Cannot get over how great this defensive system is. It's not only advanced, new, and skill-based, it's fun, and fair.

I am beyond excited to put this to the test against other users online, what a refresher.

Still need some work yet on the block & interior logic imo, but it is a huge improvement in that department as well. I see a lot of complaints with this...but these are NBA players, a lot of the times they are going to finish at the rim despite you being there.

Definitely have to work on defense. KD dropped 20 on me lol. His fakes , pull ups , drives just have me on edge at all times. And then Curry is sneaky in the lane.

But is there an effective hands up mechanism in this game? Hands up rarely activates for me. Or am I doing it wrong .

I think this is the only game to ever have a 1v1 'system'...so definitely by default, lol

Cant wait to see how this translates in online H2H. Really good stuff by the dev team on this one.

I believe they have to be going into a shot motion for it to activate. Which means you can't run around like a guy on fire, but it took me a while to get used to that as well.

I had one possession with LeBron James.

I was trying to blow by Kevin Durant to the right. Kevin Durant slid his feet beautifully and kept me from turning the corner. So I try to zag my back like in 2k, and once again he moves his feet laterally really well and I can't get a lane going inside toward the hoop. He cut me off both ways.

I reset up top. Ball still in LeBron's hands. I cross over and take an athletic quick first step to the left as I saw that his right foot was up high, and I'm able to use that world class athleticism to get into his torso. He tries to push me off that angle, but LeBron's strength and leverage keeps him on the inside track. LeBron successfully turns the corner.

The lane is open. Draymond sees that Durant got beat. He leaves his man and prepares to confront LeBron outside the restricted area. I go up for the dunk. Draymond also goes straight up.

I get blocked straight up at the top and go tumbling to the ground. Durant catches it and starts the break, as LeBron gathers himself and heads back the other way.

Gorgeous sequence. I've got video too.

I fell in love with the locomotion of the game. The players feel like they have some weight to them. Momentum is just right.....absolutely a blast to play DEFENSE.

If hope the retail game makes individual ratings matter when it comes to user controlled defenders. I shouldn't be locking anyone up with JJ redick lol

                This is true,

I don't really have any fear having Kevin Love on Durant....

This is probably a kill user vs user...

User on CPU though? I can lock him up more often than not on superstar..

Try defending Durant with love on superstar, I bet you find it a bit scary lol. Unless your willing to just eat the jumpers in the face.

Really? The speed and length difference is pretty apparent to me. I can't say I've focused much on locking down Durant with Love but I always notice the space he creates is pretty significant.

I don't struggle so much 1v1 vs computer but the Cavs have really put it to me on Superstar. Good defenders, intense offense.

Nah, not much trouble...and if I do get the carry animation, lot of times I can block him straight up at the end of it...I actually posted a video of it yesterday. Definitely one canned sequence that needs to go or be altered..

Best experience I've ever had playing defense in a basketball game. Offense? Anyone can do it and eventually score but it takes a lot more skill to play defense. I can do this in Live 18 and it's fun as hell. I have so much joy stopping the opposing team. I really love the contest feature when you hold the right stick up in defensive stance. One of the best features I've seen.

The Warriors are really good in this game. Look at the individual defense here by Durant (on LeBron) and Draymond Green.

Yup vs cpu it's a breeze locking up a player Lt and reading where the player with the ball is going is fairly easy

I also think the challenge comes in user vs user
