Re: NBA Live 18 Demo-Game breaking Issues
I've had to tweak the sliders, nearly all the way to zero. It's bad, like at 2k levels.Comment

CPU does it all the time with perfection. Hence, I set CPU steals to zero.Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 Demo-Game breaking Issues
question. if you can. dont know if you're allowed to. But i hear a lot of people complain about clipping in the live 18 demo. Now anyone paying attention knows it happens a lot still in other games, like 2k or any other non sports game. so my question is simple.
if i give you collision model types. which one of these models in the link is closest to what nba live's collision models are going for?
in the link below that talks about clipping in games. it has a graphic that states " Here's an example of some of the different ways you might represent the collision of an odd shape:"
Knowing this if you can give that info. would help us understand why certain types of clipping occurs.
Answer (1 of 4): Okay, let’s get our definitions straight. Clipping, in computer graphics, correctly refers to a graphic element, such as a polygon, being chopped against the view frustum or some other graphic element, to reduce the visible area of the element. Clipping is an old and well known ...
and I do have one suggestion, this will be a bit much but we know it has been done before in madden, as well as other games. If you want to stop having the cpu defenders miraculous always know when a button is pressed for a player to pass the ball so they can steal it. Then you have to base it on some what real life. you cant steal a pass that you can't see(most times). meaning if your back is turned to the passer you cant miraculously turn around perfectly to pick off my pass. you never saw where or who i was throwing to.
To fix this to some degree you guys might have to implement vision cones. (no i dont want to see them during the game.) this same vision cone can be used just like madden when it comes to passers. who has the better vision has a larger cone which creates less bad passes within that cone.
So now even though the player is watching you. if the players defensive iq isnt that high. if you fake a pass, the defender should go for the fake more often than not. if it's a known nba defender with a high defensive iq. he will not go for such fakes that often. especially not from passers that dont have high iq and high passing ratings.Last edited by splashmountain; 08-28-2017, 07:30 PM.Comment

As for the suggestion, it's something we try to balance. There a numerous things that go into it (AI/animation/passing/catching). We'll keep looking into better ways and tune this as we go along. I agree that it's frustrating sometimes to see a no look interception.Comment

There are a lot of reasons for clipping in any game including the link you added. Can't really get into it though.

Re: NBA Live 18 Demo-Game breaking Issues
This is the THIRD game in a row that still has the tip off glitch. At the beginning of the game the user control teams wins the jump ball every single time vs the cpu. All you have to do is touch the jump buttkn at anytime before the ref tbrows the ball up.....actually you can even just rapidly tap it over and over and you will win EVERY TIME. I can not believe in three games nobody else has complained about this. It is bad enough that the ball ALWAYS goes to the pg after the tip off but I can live with that but the other is unacceptable.Comment

I didn't know. In my games, CPU ALWAYS gets the tip.Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 Demo-Game breaking Issues
i was playing LiveRun last night and was guarding the ball handler, i forced him to pick his dribble up a few steps past half court. then his teammate tried to set a pick on me because i was able to push the ball handler back towards the half court line (he was sliding). i thought i was going to push him over the line for a backcourt but instead i went right through him
ive only seen this once and ive been playing the demo since release

Played some earlier and low loose balls are slightly better, but the the ones that bounce off the ground still suck. they at least try to go for the ball, but still dont really get it right. There are slightly less blocks but you can still get those. This idiot on my team kept trying to dribble everywhere and kept losing the ball, so that's confirmed. Contested layups also working better as my team seriously missed like 10 layups in a row that would've gone in before. Also I had one guy who kept trying to pass out of a shot and he'd throw the ball out of bounds every time. Seems like playing good defense is causing a few more turnovers. Setting picks is way better as it's turning your guy the right way now. The game overall plays a lot betterComment

I read in a review if you turn off auto-subs that the CPU will never sub. Have you guys confirmed that?Gamertag and PSN Mrclutch1013
