Between all the canned game play in the paint, lack of offense run by teams...It's tough for me to get invested...I feel like I am watching the same couple of sequences play out....I don't fear the Rockets are going to space the floor and kill me behind the line....I'm preparing for CP3, Harden attempting to barrel into the paint and dumping it down to Capela when they're stuck to hit hooks he has no business hitting.

That's not to say the game completely lacks dynamic sequences at times, but I would love to see this focused on going forward.

Yeah 24th, after that big PATCH drop, they'll address this like they always do... I wonder why they always have to patch the CPU though? That's always been the case since before patching was a thing...

give the controllers to a 5 year old with an EA game, kind of tell them what to do and they will remain competitive against the AI. this is Madden and I can see this true with Live.

try doing the same with a 2k game, and watch them get exposed immediately.

not knocking Live, but in the end Live will be fun in spurts, not longevity. just my opinion.

pick up and play, ease of use advantage goes to Live. and it is a pretty looking and sounding game.

it would also be wise for 2k to reinstate their arcade, casual, sim modes in future installments.
Yeah, I kinda agree with this. To me Live is more like Call of Duty, and 2k is more like Battlefield (I believe BF is by EA tho).

2k has a bit more of a learning curve, especially this year. They made a big jump this year with difficulty. It's a bit deeper and more detailed.

Default sliders are better in 2k. I haven't played on default Live sliders since the demo so maybe they're improved, idk.

Tbh, I got both games because both require smart basketball to win this year. The CPU is really good in both games, more human like than ever.

And kids gravitate towards 2k because of the online modes and because it was the more dominant game of this decade.

Live is really underrated this year, and many of the reviews come off as condescending tbh. It's always compared to 2k. And that's from someone who is a fan of both titles.

You can say 2k is better than Live on the 2k forums, but it's like it's forbidden that you say Live is better than 2k on the Live forums.

It's annoying and it's a huge turnoff. Thinking about leaving the community here because of the double standards. It's just a video game ffs.

        The article brought up 2k.

I mean seriously, no one has a problem when the first thing the article's review said right off the bat that Live isn't as realistic as 2k, but as soon as someone disagrees (god forbid someone say the opposite) it's all "hush hush" smh.

I go on the 2k forums and everyone trash's live without a problem. It's just funny.

not making this a 2k vs Live debate.
however, what your post points out, is that, 2k is the Gold standard of basketball games, if not all sports titles.

Live is good, just wont be getting it. ill play when I go to my relative's house.

if you feel that Live is better, thats cool. the fact that we are having this debate is a good thing. Only other sports game where you can have this debate is with soccer. every other sports is one title from AAA developers.

God definitely knows when. Cause I sure dont. Live lost its way way back in the early 2000's, when I realized Jason Kidd could throw ally oops all game long from 3/4 court.

Glad they are finding their way again. Maybe they'll build a new crop of loyalists from this generation forth. Im sure if they stick with it, theyll surpass 2k. just like 2k surpassed them. That's the nature of business. However, Im way beyond the point of supporting 2 titles, no time.

no more 2k vs Live from me. just had to get my point across. Happy gaming

Exactly... Your opinion should be VOID on these forums from here on out! You don't even have the game.. You haven't even dug deep to figure out what this year's title holds... This is a reach and to say your SUSPECT is an understatement!!! People suck at life in general only to embarrass themselves for kicks..smh!

All good man. As a basketball fan, I'm glad we have two games competing again. It will foster innovation and the best product possible.

And this is the first year in a while where I feel like there really isn't a consensus best basketball game. Or at the very least, it seems like there is a legitimate argument. Both are good games, quite different, and it seems like a lot of it comes down to preference.

YAWN!!!!!! you clearly need a hug........LOL!!!!!!

wasnt going to respond to your childish/immature post, but i have nothing better to do this evening.

never said you didnt know anything. reread all my posts. I said the game is fun, just not my choice for long term enjoyment. you have another opinion. I did not bash you or any other person about their opinions.

It doesnt take me a long time to decide if I like a game. I did not like 2k17 last year and clearly stated that in the 2k forums. but due to 2k's track record, I knew this year I would give them the benefit of the doubt. they showed and proved..

I also, only stated the year I made the switch from Live, I never question peoples decision. we can have a healthy debate, which is what i thought we were doing.

You lobbed the first insults, not I.

i came here based on yes the limited time I have, but yes I still have some time with the title. enough to say that it isnt for me.

                  that translates to:

You enjoy Live, I like the other title.....that's it.. get it... very simple.

                  take it lite..homie!!!!!

side note: the only reason why I posted on here is because the article did reference 2K.

I like how you back tracked without justifying why you're on a NBA LIVE THREAD posting without a copy!!! Sad to say the least!! Won't even get into how your pleading your case and putting the blame on me when we're only conversing about basketball video gaming! Smh... I'm immature because I caught you with your hands in the cookie jar and again your post are VOID... Go buy a copy..Hell, they are practically giving them away on most NBA LIVE social media outlets... Try it! The demo or couple hours at your buddies won't do it justice!

I recently bought Live and the thing is now already collecting dust. It was fun for a couple of hours but the gameplay in no way holds up to 2k. Sorry if you don't feel the same way but sitting there insulting those who have a difference of opinion  doesn't just validate what you're saying. I tried giving Live a chance this year and after 2 days of playing it I realized I wasted my money. They made strides this year but 2k greatly improved on what was a mediocre game in 2k17.

Like someone else stated, Live is a pick up and play game you can enjoy in short spurts. 2k is a much deeper game that requires a little strategy and can keep you invested long term because of the depth in the game.

Why are people so sensitive on this forum?? Jeez... You know what? I apologize for trying to keep the thread exploding moderaters/admins.. I now realize why there are guidelines in the first place...

For the record, I thought the same about NBA 2K18 after a few minutes ( actually when I saw how the pre game almost looks more generic then those BENCHES the crowd sits on lol! Like seriously, where the hell are the seats? These are bleacher seats at the ball game for god sake ) of booting up.. Then all the close ups... Smh! But you talk about how deep the game is lol!! Yeah deep as in " deep $@&? " because NBA LIVE 18 has arrived and there's no turning back!! Slip, skate, and dive around the court on that Mr...

I have to disagree here, I’ve been getting tired of teams doing the same thing every game...attack the paint. I have both and play both games, take a team like the Pelicans, Davis pulls up and shoots midrange and even 3’s in real life...you won’t see any of that in live. I’d hoped it weren’t true, but the shot charts are the proof in the pudding. In one quarter on 2k there were about 7-8 midrange shots by the pelicans, on live if there were 3-4 midrange taken the whole game that was a lot.

EA has to get to work on this, if you pack the paint...they will shoot 3’s but pretty much only 3’s. If you play any other type of defense they just attack the paint.

Live would be 10x better if they could get the cpu to play a better game.
