Why isn't there any motion from CPU?

Just picked up the game last night for $20 and I played 5 games and my cpu teammates just stay still. 2 at the corner and one at the wing and one in the post up animation. If there is motion it's usually one other teammate moving around, I rarely see multiple CPU teammates in motion. The same can be said on the other side of the ball. It makes playing off ball defense too easy.

The AI are standing around waiting for Synergy to kick in just like the rest of us 😄

Seriously is there a way to fix this with sliders?

I've been wondering the same thing. Players just stand still when I get the ball

Don't think any sliders can solve this...its been a long standing issue....that stands out even more with the heavy bumping along the perimeter...

Have to call plays, set up screens and dribble handoffs. Off ball control really needs a come back too.
In one mode as a center I see lots of motion and kickouts due to my defense. Just hasn't translated over to other modes.

I've seen the ai do mostly screens and an occasional pick and roll, but nothing beyond that.

Best thing to do is use the dpad...double tapping lets you tell select player to cut, screen etc...you can actually get a lot going this way without just calling a play. There are a lot of plays in the playbook though so should be plenty there.

How about when I'm playing defense? It's the same thing I get bored of playing defense off the ball cause CPU just sits there and I don't have to work on D

The movement exists. As others wrote before me,there are a lot of plays that you can triger.when it show you the quick play option ,select it and follow the instruction play.Otherwise stay with your PG in the middle of the half court wait for 4-5 secs & depending on the team you use,on of your guards will make a run to the other side coming of screens for a shot.If that does not happening you can push this by pressing right on dpad.(very usefull).
Left Dpad for temmate cut.Down Dpad for Post play with on of your Bigs depending the situation. Also, they made very nice options for Bigs. They try to establish good post possition & ask for ball.Pass to them then you can also triger on on off the previous. There is a lot of movement but you have to initiate it sometimes depending what defence gives you.If you wait in the midddle as i said you will see it,but you will run the clock this way.If you want to attcak quicker do as i say.
Dpad right-left or down .Up is for isolation

Hopefully the Live team really focuses on implementing more natural movement from teamates without having to call a play everytime down floor.....because that makes every possesion feel procedural instead of free flowing..

In my experience, when I've tried to stand at the top of the key and allow motion, it seems to result in a lot of screens that dont actually result in any separation...so it's essentially jusr wasting time off the shot clock.

It's the same way when I'm playing defense. The cpu teams just sit there while the PG try to make something happen [emoji23]

It is NBA Live's main weakness. The only feature from the other game that needs to come to live is the offensive sets. If each team had a freelance offense this game would be amazing.
