BS, Chris Smoove and alot of gameplay youtubers made their name because of 2k, they did not make 2k it's the other way around, the agent 00, the Ipod make a living because 2k is a success franchise. I am sure if Live sold a couple of million copies of their game they would be playing more of Live 18, so lets not claim that 2k sales are a result of Chris Smoove.

agent 00 and the other guys aren't in the same league as Chris Smoove, they've been around for 2 years or so and he's been doing it since 2009. A lot of comments say that people started playing 2k because of him as most people watched his for his COD gameplay but because of his personality got into his 2k videos. I've read endless comments saying this over the years. Most 2K YouTubers also state that Chris Smoove got them into 2k but okay.

I hope we continue to get nba live. NBA 2k is amazing this year maybe the best sports video game ever made before but competition is always a good thing and based of the demo nba live plays a good game this year but its franchise mode is basically broken with there being no trade, really bad sim stats and no injures. If nba live 19 could just fix franchise mode and include those simple things that would go a long way.

I hope so. I enjoyed a lot of things regarding gameplay in the demo, especially the defensive side. Only reason I haven't bought the game is bc I strictly play franchise and Lives is just horrible. If Live can really improve franchise & add player editing in, I'm switching sides asap. Really dissapointed in many aspects of 2k this year, but it's kinda building frustration for a while now.

I don't like Smoove, or similar youtubers like him. When I watch a youtube channel, I want to see them be fair, and not rely on forced comedy, fake rage for views, and gimmicks. I don't think they help sell the game at all either, since ultimately it's fair, non-paid off reviewers and our own past experiences with the games that do that.

I just find youtubers like that a dime a dozen, and if anything, they rely on 2k/madden more than anything, instead of the other way around. I feel the same about dukedakilla when it comes to madden with his fake rage for views. As for the best sports youtubers, I really like ryanmoody21's madden breakdown vids a lot. He doesn't have any schtick for you to deal with, nor is he on a companies payroll masked as a 'gamechanger', paid to hype the game and shield it from criticism such as simfootballcritic for example.

I feel the same as you, but the hilarious thing is that clearly not one single person who has commented so far watches Chris Smoove videos because he is NOTHING like the others. There is absolutely no forced comedy, rage or anything in his videos. I feel like people here have just heard his name and automatically are lumping him with the other idiots. He is literally the only YouTuber I watch for the specific fact that he ISN'T what everyone here is saying that he is

To answer the OP's question, I thought it was a solid game and definitely deserves to return next year. The problem is...what's the magical sales number where EA decides to invest another year in it?

If I Remember they lost money on All Pro. Poeple just didn't want to play with generic teams. And it had a very lack luster franchise mode.

I wish I knew what the magic number is for Live. The only thing that helps me sleep at night is knowing EA can take a loss. I think they made some good headway this year with the anger of 2k customers on the VC thing. As long as they don't do the VC next year (if they make a game) I think they should be good.

EA bought a million copies and passed them out around the world! Don't sleep noshun!! That's all part of collecting dividends.. I can almost guarantee the company didn't lose out with the release of this title.. Only guys who paint pictures and waste time processing the NBA LIVE series in a negative light lose out most of the time

Well, that's an improvement. I thought with it being $40 for pre-orders it would have been much higher. 36k for both systems, yeeeesh.

Live 15 & 16 combined, only sold close to 500k on both consoles. I was looking at them selling 100k. That would have been a great opening month.

I don't know honestly. Live 18 isn't a bad game. There is a lot of times, I have fun with this games. It is just that it flaws are big and that prevents people from buying. There isn't really depth outside of 'The One'. I think that is the only reason someone would buy NBA Live is for The One.

I want them to continue with this game. It has potential, just needs to fully flesh everything else up. Maybe Frostbite can help improve graphics, most face scans are terrible. Animations need to be a lot smoother than they are now. Most of the shots around the basket, look to be high difficulty but still have a high success rate. Atmosphere and commentary needs to be worked on. Halftime and post time show needs to re-worked.

I'm not sure what will decide whether continue on with this game. It took them very late in cycle to release cover and release date. It isn't like last couple games where the game was poor quality. This time feels like poor sales might be a factor. I would imagine them to transition to Frostbite this year. It took a lot of resources for Madden, so imagine Live
