    Franchise concern

I've owned this game for a while and only played it sporadically. I decided this week to dive in bc the other game is getting stale. I have a question though...

Do all teams play the same or do the teams at least partially play similar to real life? Every game I have played or simmed the 3 pt shot attempts come out looking really low. If the only option to tune that is to adjust the sliders then that doesn't really help the situation because that makes me think every team will play the same.

Can anyone that has spent more time in franchise or play now shed any light on this for me?

    Thanks.

    Re: Franchise concern

Most of the teams do play similar to real life depending on the level of difficulty and the possible sliders you may tweak. You can easily tell the difference between a superstar and a role player.

However, the CPU has a tendency to not shoot when contested (depending on level of difficulty again). So in other words, if you are guarding the 3pt line well, they will not shoot it unless they are in a fast break, double team, or off of a pick.

Also I think in NBA live 18 franchise mode , you should be able to use all teams and play with them. Because in 2k myleague you can use as much team space as you want to and that makes it more fun because u can play with a bad team and make them good while also still make your favorite teams win a championship AND STUFF . Please put this in the game to make it leap over 2k and best basketball game .

Side note if they add multiple team usage to franchise mode , I know many including me will be playing NBA live 18 25/8

FRANCHISE DEFINITELY NEEDS TWEAKING!!! I really want to like this game. But What is the deal with the historical players / teams in this game? I bought this game foolishly thinking that similar to 2k I'd be able to play with the legends immediately, only to find that you have to play all of these challenges, earn all of these coins, only to earn RANDOM LEGENDS, that even then you can't add to a roster, draft, or use in franchise mode. Who would have thought? A basketball game with players that you can't use at your disposal. This is insane, what's the point of them being in the game if you can't readily use them. The challenges are fine, for those who prefer to do them.I don't have the time nor desire to play all of these challenges. My favorite mode is the franchise or dynasty mode, where I can draft all players in the game, legends and current players, and play SEASONS with them. That is the great thing about NBA 2K. You have access to "ALL" of the players from the jump to assign to rosters, edit, draft, use in franchise or whatever. NBA live was my favorite game for years. Then it became 2K. After seeing videos of the game I gave it a try hoping to switch back to NBA Live because this game does have potential, but this is completely insane. Eddie Jones, a basketball player, my favorite player is in the game but I can't use him. I have to do all of these crazy, unnecessary, and unwanted challenges, only to mayyyyyyyyyyyyybe get him from one of these crates or mystery packs, and even then only have limited use of the player. What is this foolishness? I mean c'mon. Could you please address this issue? One final thing, who gets excited about buying clothing for video game characters, there seeams to be a lot of focus on clothing but not the actual things that the game is about BASKETBALL. CPU doesn't request trades. Can't adjust lineups prior to game start, as it reverts back to the old lineup. The method in which you set defensive pressure is so annoying, you have to hit L1 and go to each individual player. How about placing all of the players on one screen with the same toggle features. Sheesh!!!!!!! When attempting to make trades with the CPU, all you get is "make it a better trade". How about having the CPU give you what asset options you have that they'd be willing to accept to make the trade. I know you guys have played 2K, so you have to know there are some features you guys can clearly approve upon.

I haven't played in a couple of months, but when I did, every team had the same general strategy and it got old quick. The ai was/is? hellbent on getting to the rim, held on to the ball and threw up bad shots at the end of the shot clock, and rarely ran plays.

Are you able to do a fantasy draft franchise? If so, can you also use created players in this fantasy draft?

            Thank you

Yes you can do a fantasy draft. As long as you load the roster file with the created players before launching the franchise, then they should be there.

                Re: Franchise concern

Has anyone had any success making trades in Franchise mode? I know that the CPU doesn't initiate any trades (which is a whole other issue), but I cannot even make a trade between my team and another.

For example, I am the Bucks and I am in my second season of the franchise. I am trying to trade for a center, and am attempting to move Eric Bledsoe. I was working on a deal with the Pacers that would send them Bledsoe and a 2020 1st round draft pick, and I would get Myles Turner and Lance Stephenson in return. I am lacking at the C position, and Indy''s PG is around 80 overall. Bledsoe is rated 86 OVR, Turner is 87. Both Bledsoe and Turner have "Max" trade interest level, and Stephenson was added to keep Indiana under the salary cap, and he's only 70 OVR. The trade met all parameters and seemed to make sense for both teams.

However, the trade failed, as the Pacers were "not interested" in Bledsoe. I then tried trades with several other teams (Orlando, Denver), and the same response happened every time...the teams were not interested in Bledsoe, despite the "Max" trade interest.

Anyone have any tips on how to get trades to work?

I wish that I could help you. I love this game but the lack of franchise really puts a damper on any excitement.
