I am very disappointed about the graphics... its not near like the screenshots EA posted a few weeks ago...https://twitter.com/EASPORTSNBA/stat...074072064?s=20

I hope it's because it's not the current build...

The lighting is the key difference. I saw a lot of Russ in my The One game and he looks the same as those screenshots.

What's missing is that lighting vs an outside court in the middle of the Phillipines.

It's like a professional photography shoot. Take a regular camera into a dark room with a couple lights and you will kill it thanks to the shadows and back light. Take the same subject outside and you're competing with the sun. Or at a court you're competing with arena lighting which lights up the entire face, making everyone appear flat.

There was no way the game would compare to those screenshots.

Can anyone tell me if they'll let you practice/scrimmage at any of the park venues?

If you download demo on both consoles!

The player models are bigger on Xbox One X
and PS4 they are smaller and the court looks massive!

Small detail to seek if you own both consoles.

I know others have noted less muscle tone but I'm reserving judgement until I see if guys that should have muscle definition are also lacking it. I think the example provided was Al Horford. I wouldn't necessarily consider Horford an example of muscle definition comparatively speaking with other NBA players.

I have not used replay to check anything out. I've barely had game time with the NBA product.

What I have noticed is Durant cross me up twice and use the space to fire a mid range jumper. I saw that exactly zero times in 18 and now twice in one quarter in 19. That's a major positive in my opinion.

Offensive boards are still too easy. Sometimes my man just didn't even attempt to be in the paint area to box out Cousins. Could be a Celtics thing vs an elite big but let's be serious, we know this has been an issue, let's not pretend the matchup in this particular version is the reason for it still being an issue.

I've noticed some of the individual movements that were being touted. Kyrie has a little extra pep in his step, the dribble just a little in front of his body. Curry knocking down a three and the mouth guard coming out (not in 18). Not sure yet about other animations. Might be others but those two were the only ones I am 100% on.

Finally, movement is much improved. Last year I felt like I was fighting the stick a lot to get my player to move across the floor. As of a couple minutes of play time, I have not noticed that issue.

Still seeing passes I hate like ones that are successful to a guy not looking at you. I know sometimes the ball bounces off the head but would it hurt for the roll man to have his head turned toward the ball? It would look more natural.

And I had one situation driving with Kyrie where Hayward's (stationed in the corner) man rotated over to help on D and I was able to pass to an open Hayward. That was nice to see but not sure if I got lucky. Just a 1/1 deal so far. Based on other comments, close outs may still be too quick.

My opinion, Live could drop percentages a bit (I know there's a slider but talking default), slow down close outs and make open jumpers hit at the same rate. Those simple changes would likely result in realistic shooting percentages out of the box.

More later when I have the time. As of now, I'm leaning toward a buy. But I'm not there yet. The One was really fun so that's a positive too.

The things you mention are exactly what the game needs and I also actually like the toned down textures. I thought last year the lighting and textures made a lot of players look kinda ghoulish. I still have nightmares about Draymond Greens likeness.

I honestly really disliked last years game. The ease of driving to the hoop, no mid range game, lack of open looks just killed it for me. This year driving to the hoop seems fixed, there is a mid range game. Now if they can fix close outs and get some movement for open looks I honestly think this would get more play than 2k for me.

Don’t get me wrong I think 2k is amazing and a superior basketball game in most ways but In my old age I just really like the simplicity of live.

The other things I like better about live:

Accelerated clock. I dunno why but I love the accelerated clock.

The fact I can turn off all the icon video gamey crap. In 2k you can turn off a lot but in live you can turf all of it.

The ESPN presentation. I know some people probably feel like it’s been the same too long but I love it. The half time and end of game shows are amazing. I never skip them.

The replay system. I love love love the right stick click system.

                Gotcha!
But the reason Horford was used or stood out to me is because although he is lean dude has some swoleness to him irl. He isn't out there with Gumby arms like he is in 19.Not trying to sway anyone's opinion, but it seems like a dropoff imo

Man if Franchise was robust as 2k and commentary was better this game would be 10/10... So much potential they missing out on

So far the gameplay is great and much improved! However, if there is no Franchise improvement for NBA AND no Franchise Mode for WNBA, I personally cannot purchase this at full price. Modes need to exist and need to be deeper to warrant $60.

Okay i spent 5 hours watching this.. with a guy who plays it every year,.. this game is leaps and bounds better than 18, 18 i stopped viewing after about 10 minutes, i actually watched all 5 hours!!!!!!

Only truly negative i saw was KLay Thompson his shooting is insane from 3, or even spot up shooting... but that could easily be tuned.. also separation seems like it's not that good... pick and rolls look great this year.. but the guy who was playing said it's a completely different movement/control that takes time to get used to, once you do it's great!

I saw him learning on the fly.. like passing to the wrong player who was cutting..

Commentary may be a weak spot if that is the NBA FINALS... honestly didn't even think about it wow reallu serious atmosphere is missing.. more like a  regular nba season game.
I'm only a 2k player, I can say this year LIVE is finally LIVE!!!!!!
it's been age since i wanted to say that.. feels like a basketball game,,,great movement.. much better passing.. much more fluid shooting... nice blocks one thing that worries me is the take over icon that seemed extreme... but that's not something that cannot be fixed...

Only thing that could hold live back from being a real contender is franchise.... don't know much about that.

If they can add good dynamic commentary like Madden... i might be buying a console NEXT year!  (only own a Gaming P.C at least i get fifa nba 2k now madden... just need live to cross over

All I can say after 5 hours of watching.. is FINALLY!!!!!!!!!

This is from a 2k player only for the past 10 years! WATCH out 2k!

This year   Nba live... "Ea Sports It's in the game"

                      ENJOY fellas!!!!

Please add a controller option that removes all of these automated hand-switching animations from the game.
While I agree somewhat with this...that would simply never happen and cause more problems...imagine a normal everyday casual player or even kid that picked up the sticks and had to MANUALLY switch hands just to dribble properly. 2k even knows better than that. Would it be cool to have that option? As a toggle sure .... But it would just not be something that would be a positive to ALOT of people. Just my 2 cents

                          2. No one is forcing you to do anything. It's YOUR choice.

3.You are not asking for a better product, because you don't like how you gain access to the demo.

4.The price tag does not entitle you to whatever you want.

You are one of those people who think you paid for your ticket and get to curse the players out? No you are not entitled to whatever you choose.

We are all capable of complaining. We are also all capable of speaking with our dollars and not supporting the product if it doesn't meet your standard. Im simply stating, that it's a damned if you do or don't. Realizing that they don't HAVE to put out a demo at all. They don't have to provide anything they choose not too. That we would just complain about not having it at all.I was a member here when we complained and entitled our way out of nfl2k as a whole.
Now you got me interested, NFL2k..."our way out of nfl2k as a whole" can you elaborate on that? I have owned every 2k since it's earliest days on dreamcast, and I clearly remember and still hate that EA was able to throw more money at the NFL and that is why we don't have a 2K NFL game.

Not sure what you're talking about anymore, people came to the thread to post their impressions and thoughts of the game. The only one talking about entitlement is you. Stop complaining about other peoples posts, say what you like or don't like about the game, leave the rest alone, as with all online game forums you always have to take it all as what it is, just folks own opinions, doesn't mean you will or won't like it the same.

The devs making money for their games, especially EA, don't really care if you think we shouldn't say what we'd rather have them do or not do in the demo, has nothing to do with being entitled so just let it go man.

I think the way it used to be with them simply crossing over to the other hand if you go left or right was fine. What the OP is saying though and I sort of agree...why have them going behind the back and doing spins when I just move in the other direction. Sometimes it doesn't work the way intended and while trying to setup a cross over or just get better position they start pulling off some dribble animation that messes up the whole flow. I'd rather the more advanced dribble moves be up to me. For very casual gamers this stuff could be more automated on rookie/pro, but shouldn't be on All-Star, like Madden, I want it to rely more on stick skills, and not the CPU just doing stuff for me.
