I switched to ratings only, and this is half the reason. The other half is that I like the shot quality and player ratings to play more of a role than my ability to let go of the stick at the right time.

I couldnt do anything against them in the retail version. I didn't think AS was bad cheesy. But retail is a bit different than demo.

The plays, I agree. Still need a ton of work. I talked at great length about team and player specific tendencies. They've made strides, but still a ways to go.

On walking it up, just feather the stick lightly.
I think they were referring to slow dribbles in the half court, like walking sizeups. That's been one of my biggest complaints for a couple years as well.

I'm sure EA isn't deaf either and has to realize how bad it is in the demo. if I was a producer I would have left it out in the demo and I believe they did in past basketball games especially for demos

I actually think the commentary was decent. There are definitely some robotic sounding lines, but they did a pretty good job keeping up with the game and calling out things that I haven't really heard from either game.

A little emotion after a block, then right into the made shot.

I started to get hot with Curry, and hit a pull-up three in transition off a screen. The commentary made a quick note of how well Curry was shooting.

Another pull-up three in transition. I didn't care for the defense in the back-court, but the commentary after the three was good, calling back to how well he's shooting in the game.

I love hearing things like that over offseason stories and repetitive banter. 2k gets a ton of credit for their commentary, but it's missing things like this that reflect on the storyline in the game being played. If EA can smooth out the stitching a little bit in the play-by-play, I'd be happy. Admittedly, this was my first game, so I can't say much about repetitive lines, but if they focus on the on-court action, it should be great. Overall, I think the commentary has a solid base.

Re: NBA Live 19 Demo Available Now For Both Xbox One & PS4 - Post Your Impressions He

Commentary is growing on me. Reminds me of madden’s a bit. It’s different. But it does go a bit deeper I think.

The crowd atmosphere is as well. Especially at the end of close games during timeouts. Electric vibes.

Love the emotion/celebration d-pad feature. Adds another great aspect to the game.

Shooting feels great. Contested catch and shoots are very skill based. Snagged a green light and fell to the floor with Klay as the defender closed in strong/fast. No foul but it felt very real.

Love the shooting feel. I don’t feel like it’s perfect. The sliders I had to work with a bit but the core mechanics I enjoy. It gives that true shooting feel and is very rewarding/addicting. Great mix of timing/openness/ratings/rhythm etc.

What I don’t like is the team’s momentum factoring so much into shot success again. It feels overdone/intrusive and we still don’t have any consistency sliders.

That’s one reason I don’t like the nba play so much.

            It just looks unnatural.

With the brightness/contrast adjustments in the settings I was able to recapture my graphics appreciation that I had last year.

Players still play really similar. Marcus smart pulling up for a lot of midranges every game. I don’t feel or see a lot of distinction between play styles/tendencies.

The A.I recovers incredibly fast on the break. They always catch up and get in front of me no matter what .

It’s annoying and game breaking . Even in the midrange I’ve seen some sliding in place.

              The CPU is recovering unnaturally

Such an improvement in player motion from 18. Very pleased and very nice graphics. Very disappointed in the commentary though. Very bland drone sounding.. Zero excitement, so boring, and really kills the atmosphere of the game. I would like more arena music, like you hear in real nba arenas, as the atmosphere is much worse though. I really hope this fix this for the official release.

They are just too popular... ea says they’re going to keep the commentary updated there is no way they would be available to keep the commentary updated Throughout
the entire season. At it's current state the robotic commentary ruins the immersion for me.

Like I said above I will give it a chance as this season progresses. It is nice that they are planning on keeping the commentary updated as they do in madden

Love the general feel of the game. How smooth the movement feels, the foot planting, how nimble the players are, how good it feels to break free for a layup or a fast break oppurtunity, the spin on the ball when dribbling up court. And for the second year in a row the WNBA game feels even better, I think it's due to the height of the women being shorter, which creates more spacing. The game just feels more open and fluid and watching Maya Moore's ponytail move while dribbling up court on a fast break looks so real.

Every area of presentation is well done, love the ESPN package. I agree with the people complaining about the commentary being a few years behind, and Jay Williams comments are getting old fast. Very close to having to turn that off.

One thing I would wish to see changed is the difficulty levels. I don't like the artificial way the difficulty is increased. I don't feel like I can pull off the same moves that the CPU can pull off. I can take the same shots and never make them. I've even tried adjusting sliders. It's very frustrating. I want to unlock the full Superstar effort and intelligence without the CPU sucking my powers dry and injecting it into themselves.

For those of you finding ft shooting too easy or shot timing off, try turning the shot meter Off.

Feels so good to just shoot by jump height or release point.
more challenging ft shooting and jumpers feel better to me
