So I played through the 2k prelude and after playing it, absolutely hated it. Sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I'll be keeping my preorder for Live 19. Hopefully we can get franchise updates and fixes, that's the mode I play heavily.

EA Devs, please fix franchise and add online leagues at the very least. I miss those so...

Didn't seem like a bash to me. The Prelude wasn't anything special to me. It was fun. But I get what he's saying.

Definitely made my mind up about this game. The NBA side is bad, really, really bad.

Can't deal with the slow clunky players and the overpowered defense.

John Wall and Russell Westbrook are useless because you can never can get a step on the defender without doing at least 4-5 dribble moves and then you'll get your dunks blocked 99 percent of the time or do some stupid double cluch layup if a decent bigg is in the game.

Don't think about running a fastbreak or playing uptempo because you'll be slowed down by the pass and the catch animations or the defenders will be right on you.

People talk crap about the ai in 2K, but the Ai in this game is just as bad, if not worse. They make what you miss and ignore your defensive position.

Don't play on anything other than pro unless you want to mess with sliders which is..to much trail and error for me.

Anyone having fun on the NBA side definitely isn't playing on All-star or Superstars unless they've tweaked a few things.

I'm playing the demo on default All-Star with the only modifications being upping the foul sliders because I like having more calls.


Having a blast and while I see some of the things being said, it doesn't happen all the time or enough for me to be frustrated. I don't expect to drive by someone with Irving everytime or not be met at the rim by a big.


I've also had no issues running fastbreaks. Get a steal, pick up the ball, keep going. No one catches me and one example I'm thinking of is as Draymond Green who isn't exactly the fastest person in the game.


Would I like to see fastbreak offense improved? Yeah sure. This has been a problem in basketball games for decades now so I won't stop wishing it was better, but I'm not seeing it being gamebreaking enough to consider the game bad unless I want to call every basketball game bad because of the fastbreak offense.




But in the end, if it's not fun for you then it's not fun for you. I've said it before I have never found the other game fun. Ever. I played it and enjoyed it as much as I could until I was frustrated with everything about it within a couple games. That's my story and whatever it is about that game that frustrates me probably doesn't frustrate you. And vice versa with Live. But just because you aren't enjoying it doesn't mean other people aren't or that they are doing some secret tuning no one knows about to enjoy the game.



Live fans like the game. Be done with it.

Sad truth ur writing, I do play above pro only because it’s too easy but I don’t mess with the sliders, I get frustrated with the cpu but I don’t let it stop me from enjoying the game but when it does I just stop playing and hope that the EA team sees what we see and put a patch to help the games issues.

I haven't played the full version of the game. But unless the game plays 100% differently than 18 or the demo I disagree with everything you've said. On All-Star I've had zero issues getting past defenders without doing a bunch of dribble moves. I can just blow by poor defenders or if I get a big switched out on my guard. Simple crossover and I'm out. If there's a shot blocking big under the rim why try to dunk and get your shot blocked? Shoot a floater. Works really well.

I can fastbreak at times when I have numbers. I can't just fastbreak because I want to but when it's there it's easy. Especially 3's off of the break. In fact it's done very well IMO.

Defense is not overpowered and I can get people open pretty regularly. In fact only tweaks necessary are to make the defense harder or at least make shooting percentages lower.

Anyway, everyone plays differently. Just surprising that your experience is so different than mine. And believe me I'm no wizard on the sticks it's just when I play within the flow of the game and take good shots in rhythm the game flows really well (Again IMO).

Been playing retail and I don’t have an issue either. Can get by with most players but you have to work the ball around and get a step or pump fake a guy off balance but dribble moves work the best which it should.

I think it’s a fair opinion for someone to think blocking is OP but I personally like it and think it’s kinda necessary. Game would be a dunk fest if it didn’t make you think before you try dunking. I only make sure I have a lane or a clear dunk if I’m in the trees or floaters are good or layups with the correct hand.

I personally am not a fan of how many dunks happen in the game now even with the blocks as they are and can’t imagine how it would be if they were lessened.

To each their own and I bet there will be a huge amount of people who feel the way you do. Last year I could pretty much get to the rim every time with anyone even with the jostle vs blow by slider maxed and that was another reason I hated 18. Kinda why I didn’t go digital on this one. I’m pretty scared they are gonna patch it to be too easy so I may not update my game.

Edit.... I forgot to mentio and I’m sure it doesn’t matter I think you’ve made up your mind but on all star or superstar changing the game speed from 80 to 60 made a world of difference for me.
