Franchise mode is locked as we all know for this demo. However, if you read the description, it says "Take control of your favorite NBA team..." which likely means the WNBA won't be an option for franchise mode

It's not a definite at this point but it doesn't look good

How are you getting the plays to work? Every play I ran broke down almost immediately and I don’t think I had 1 guy get an open look.

Any particular plays you used that worked good? I would like to try.

I just press up and watch the motion. In my limited time it was much easier with warriors. Celtics I would use the quick plays or plays by position plus pressing up for auto play calling.

Same thing I did last year but players run with more purpose and you can see the rpm also.

My tip with either game is don't focus on the player in motion to much. 2 other scoring opportunities open up. Not a auto bucket but a good look.

Don't count on it, they really didn't make huge improvements last year through patching, other than adding some roster editing.

Well the commentary is touted as a main feature and they’ve said there will be monthly updates so that it’s always relevant.

As far as commentary goes the commentary is levels behind breen/gundy(that's not saying Alot)... probably the worst live has had in a while..sounds like both commentators recorded lines in two separate rooms.

The best Live game I’m a long, long time.

It has never been this fluid in motion and it has the least ‘weird only in Live’ animations, with only a few remaining.

The catch and shoot and catch and dunk transition animations are superb. The bumps and pushes and player cut animations are really good too.

Commentary isn’t great but it’s the best Live has had in forever as well. Having players call by the first, last and nick names randomly works so well. It is all pieced together a lot better as well. The commentary reminds me of the (Japanese only PS2 game) NBA Starting Five 2005. Now EA just need to replace the stadium announcer (21 years and counting... no joke).

Graphically... very good but the skin textures are slightly lower res than 18 and the sweat isn’t as pronounced. Hopefully both these can be fixed.

The courts and general colours look great and still pop.

So far so good. Best ball game in years.

NBA Live 09 and 10 were smoother in the animations department!

Live should have kept two teams of announcers for different days of the week until the new team was ready to be on thier own.

The basketball feel/responsiveness and animation IQ is amazing quite often. This game is like a sandbox when trying to recreate real feel basketball sequences. There’s a lot of beautiful basketball to be found.

An NBA game this is not. While a lot of players feel and play incredibly lifelike as individuals, the 5 on 5 nba games just don’t play like nba games.

There just wasn’t enough effort put into that side of the game. I don’t think there was any effort tbh.

The game does a crazy job of capturing so many of the beautiful aspects of basketball.

But the nba side is garbage. Even with dunk sliders on zero Gordon Hayward is dunking 15 times a game.

I think that sums up everything you need to know about the nba side.

i really really like the streetball aspects of the game .. like really enjoy it. The footplanning .. weight of the players and subtle “basketball” movements/mannerisms are all legit, there are aspects to this game that feel better basketball wise than the comp but it is just something about the NBA side of things that just dont work ..

Almost like the gameplay is a little to “street” for NBA. I suggest next year they have two different type of playstyles based on the street/nba aspects of basketball because they are really two different types of games from a playstyle and approach standpoint.

Its like this is a very good basketball game just not a very good *NBA* basketball game .. especially if you are not playing or have no intention of playing The One.

Can someone please chime in ?

Is CPU calling time outs regularly if they fall behind and subbing tired players? This was a major legacy issue the last few Live games, cpu never calling time outs and didn't sub out. Also does the camera keep up with the ball being thrown down court? Thanks for any input. It's appreciated.

Finally NBA Live is BACK! Been playing since NBA LIVE 95 took a break and played 2K in 2000 went back to LIVE in 2005 then back to 2K when 2K7 dropped then back to LIVE last year.  Im a fan of both but I always loved LIVE more. Gameplay and player movement is great, the one mode is very good also. If they have to improve on anything I would say just the commentary. The game should improve every year. I'll try 2K when it goes on sale but LIVE got me.

I heard this for the last couple of days. Bro, nobody is forcing anyone to do anything. Its a demo. For access to the mode you want to play they would like you to play/try the other modes just in case someone who would not play it, might try it and like it.

Don't act like your are entitled to anything. They could not even have put out a demo. It takes all of 20 min to play the 2 games and move on. You are all frustrated and don't like the game anyway.

As for impressions. I think the game has improved in everyway. Control, movement, visuals. I started tweaking sliders immediately, and low and behold, I actually find a way to enjoy it. If this still all comes down to how it stacks up against the other game. Well....it will be available the same day.

What's the big deal, he's giving his opinion, that's what the thread is for. I could care less about the One mode as well, they could have easily just left both modes unlocked and playable. You like the One and have your opinion, so do others, doesn't have to be your opinion.

To me, it seems most of the updates to the game went into the One mode, I don't see nearly as much love has gone into the NBA 5v5 game side. 3 point cheese is still in the game, which is a damn shame. Still playing more before I can fully decide what else I'm liking or not. I actually feel like the game plays slower with the real player motion, almost clunky.

Face, but together my build.....now what ??

I have to play 2 the one games in order to unlock playnow mode with warriors/Celtics ?
