Wasn’t the commentary in last year’s demo way worse than the actual full version?

I know it wasn’t great for full version either...but I still seem to remember it was better.

Not a big deal. And this wasn't about opinion. It was about entitlement. It's shouldn't be a big deal to try a mode on the game, like it the mode or not.

I got in the hockey beta despite never playing online, just to get a look and feel of the game. Ended up not really enjoying any of the modes, but what did it cost me? Did I go to complaining about having to play through that?

We give the devs on most games a lot of flak because we somehow feel entitled. Nuff said tho. Back to impressions.

To me, it seems most of the updates to the game went into the One mode, I don't see nearly as much love has gone into the NBA 5v5 game side. 3 point cheese is still in the game, which is a damn shame. Still playing more before I can fully decide what else I'm liking or not. I actually feel like the game plays slower with the real player motion, almost clunky.

I hate the whole “entitled” argument when it comes to simply asking for a better product, or being forced into a mode you don’t care about. You’re damn right I’m going to be entitled if I’m handing out $60 for a video game.

I'm happy to have two playable basketball games this year.

Live is refreshingly good, as in different from 2k. But not better.

Create a court is similar to NBA Street v3

Animations are finally smooth, gotta give props when it's due.

I love the momentum shots. It really opens up the shooting

I can see the effort. still maybe a year or two from being a legitimate competitor.

          I give the demo 5.9/10

There is no WNBA franchise or season mode.

              How do I know?

Go to character creation and select a female. Note that League play is not one of the play options. It isn't an option because you can't play in The League with a woman.

                1. You haven't handed out $60 for the demo
                2. No one is forcing you to do anything. It's YOUR choice.

3.You are not asking for a better product, because you don't like how you gain access to the demo.

4.The price tag does not entitle you to whatever you want.

You are one of those people who think you paid for your ticket and get to curse the players out? No you are not entitled to whatever you choose.

We are all capable of complaining. We are also all capable of speaking with our dollars and not supporting the product if it doesn't meet your standard. Im simply stating, that it's a damned if you do or don't. Realizing that they don't HAVE to put out a demo at all. They don't have to provide anything they choose not too. That we would just complain about not having it at all.I was a member here when we complained and entitled our way out of nfl2k as a whole.

Re: NBA Live 19 Demo Available Now For Both Xbox One & PS4 - Post Your Impressions He

My very early impressions are that character models look better. It's possible my new 4K television (yeah I'm part of that world now!) Is doing the magic but I'm not talking about graphics, just player models. Something looks healthier about the models.

I know others have noted less muscle tone but I'm reserving judgement until I see if guys that should have muscle definition are also lacking it. I think the example provided was Al Horford. I wouldn't necessarily consider Horford an example of muscle definition comparatively speaking with other NBA players.

I have not used replay to check anything out. I've barely had game time with the NBA product.

What I have noticed is Durant cross me up twice and use the space to fire a mid range jumper. I saw that exactly zero times in 18 and now twice in one quarter in 19. That's a major positive in my opinion.

Offensive boards are still too easy. Sometimes my man just didn't even attempt to be in the paint area to box out Cousins. Could be a Celtics thing vs an elite big but let's be serious, we know this has been an issue, let's not pretend the matchup in this particular version is the reason for it still being an issue.

I've noticed some of the individual movements that were being touted. Kyrie has a little extra pep in his step, the dribble just a little in front of his body. Curry knocking down a three and the mouth guard coming out (not in 18). Not sure yet about other animations. Might be others but those two were the only ones I am 100% on.

Finally, movement is much improved. Last year I felt like I was fighting the stick a lot to get my player to move across the floor. As of a couple minutes of play time, I have not noticed that issue.

Still seeing passes I hate like ones that are successful to a guy not looking at you. I know sometimes the ball bounces off the head but would it hurt for the roll man to have his head turned toward the ball? It would look more natural.

And I had one situation driving with Kyrie where Hayward's (stationed in the corner) man rotated over to help on D and I was able to pass to an open Hayward. That was nice to see but not sure if I got lucky. Just a 1/1 deal so far. Based on other comments, close outs may still be too quick.

My opinion, Live could drop percentages a bit (I know there's a slider but talking default), slow down close outs and make open jumpers hit at the same rate. Those simple changes would likely result in realistic shooting percentages out of the box.

More later when I have the time. As of now, I'm leaning toward a buy. But I'm not there yet. The One was really fun so that's a positive too.

Quick impressions from a little time last night.

I don't understand how the UI functions. It doesn't seem intuitive to find anything. What's weird is that Madden uses a similar UI philosophy, but it is organized a millions times better.

But the face scan I did last night was so on point it's kind off scary. It made messing around in The Rise a little more interesting. I love the idea of playing a basketball game as one locked on player, but it exposes my lack of basketball knowledge even more. I'll probably still end up passing it over. but man, the customization, from the courts to the game rules is pretty fantastic.

The gameplay feels as good to me as last year. Presentation is fine, but compared to 2K it is a massive step down. But it looks and feels fantastic on the court.

Also, I really had fun messing around with the court creator last night. Wish there was a logo creator or a way to download images, but I get why they aren't. I'd have a big-*** Jayhawk right in the middle of the court. But it's still a pretty neat option. I wish all these courts were available for LUT.

All in all, not regretting my pre-order, at all.

Wow! One thing EA can be excited about is there seems to be a lot of interest in this game by the number of comments here. I bought both Live and 2K last year and although I thought 2K represented an overall better sim of basketball, I found myself playing Live more because to me it was just more fun. This year's version looks and plays even better except for the commentary as others have pointed out. 2K will still be great but we have our selves a ball game now!

This is what I’m looking for these days, SIM with a touch of fun. May pic up Live for The One. I normally don’t indulge in those types of modes but I don’t have the attention span for an 82-game season in Franchise...no matter how much I wish I did. Haha

But if you don't like the product don't buy the game...or wait for it to go on sale, which if the past 2-3 years is any indication it won't take long. You're "forced" into trying the mode for the free demo. For the actual retail version you'll likely be able to do whatever you want right from the jump.

Nothing wrong with wanting a better product, no one wants to buy something that they are going to be unsatisfied with, but luckily there's a free demo to prevent you from making a regrettable purchase. There's also so much information available about any product you are interested it is almost impossible to make an uninformed decision about buying anything.

So just played my first NBA game in the demo and I am going to talk about that because I really dont care about the other stuff. So I played on all star difficulty and lost 40-67 playing has GS. At half time I was only down by like 7 or something but in the 3erd quarter I got killed. Graphics looks amazing but really so did last year and so has 2k this whole gen to. The crowed sounds great but so did it last year on the demo never bought the game. The way the players move just looks darn realistic in the game. Its just 1 game but there may be a problem with substation logic if going by this one game. I was playing with auto sub's and to start the 2nd half Curry wasn't in the game and took about 2 timeouts being called and about 3 minutes into the 3erd for him to be brought back into the game and than at like the end of the game with like 2 minutes left both teams still had like all starters in the game even with it being a blown out. I have heard people complain that there is not enough off ball movement in the game and I am not seeing that. Both my team and the CPU team I was seeing a lot of good nice off ball movement the whole game. Blocks may be to high and may need to find a way to get more fouls but trying to get the right amount of fouls and right type of fouls always seems to be hard in nba games. There where 9 blocks in the game seems like a lot in just a 20 minute game at that pace you are looking at 21-22 blocks in a full 48 minute game. Maybe its because I have not played much live for a long time but I found that its hard to stay in front of the CPU when playing defense has they where able to get open shoots and get to the basket a little to much and it was hard to not leave shooters open on fast breaks. Also may have to turn down the slider that helps to make contested shoots some for the CPU 1 game is not enough sample size to say for sure but it did fell like they may be a little to good at making those kind of shoots. Last offensive rebounds may be to high for CPU at default. Just 1 game so again need to play more but they had 7 and I had 0 at that pace they would have about 15-16 in a full 48 minute game. Hopefully the game has a franchise mode that is not crap like before but I am not counting on it. Out side of my worries about franchise mode my 2 biggest worries are things I worried about before the demo and that is substation logic has it sounds like it was a issue last year and clock management. That one I worried about because last year when I played the demo there where some times where CPU should have just held on to the ball and wait to be fouled and didn't or would take to much time to try to get a shoot with not a lot of time left in a close game.
