If anyone needs tips on what areas or variables to tune to yield favorable results, simply let me know. Hate to think some are missing out on enjoying this gem due to something as correctable as this.
What do I need to do to do that (as far as optimizing my TV and XB1)?

As far as the game, I'm REALLY enjoying it. The Streets challenges really take me back to NBA Street. I literally have some difficulty beating some of the bosses because I'm trying to win but also want to get the objectives. It's hella fun.

To answer my own question and if anyone else wants any info on this old timers mode.....lol.

      I saw some YouTube vids.

Negatives - still looks bare bones not many/no options at all

Positives - added back in “play a friend in a series”.
      - looks like it ran very smooth

Outstanding issues - well. This mode is basically untouched and bare bones BUT the most important thing is did they clean up the drops and not getting your wins etc etc......if it is a barebones mode ATLEAST make it run smooth and don’t get cheated out of W’s.

Also better, more accurate and faster roster updates.

        Pretty simple to me.

The flaws talked about are being exaggerated.

        Positives:
        Gameplay is great
        Crowd is great
One mode dominates any career mode out there

        Average:

Commentary, which is supposed to add updates throughout the year, confirmed by devs.

        Negative:
Franchise better than last year but still bare bones
A few troubling in game bugs still remain
No franchise editing or deep gm mode
Less people will play, most likely making h2h less of an option down the line (hopefully they gain players this year).

So a complete game costs $60. This game is complete except for franchise. Is this game not worth $40 when you break it down simply?

Yes 2k is a complete game, but for 2k you will pay $60 plus $40 just to get your player competitive. On Live you start out in the 70s.

So IF you want to compare, based on the vc element your basically comparing imo a $100 game to a $40 game, $35 with ea access....

For me it's a no brainier, I'll pay $35 for a game that has everything, except a deep franchise, and hopefully they will patch in either a deeper franchise or hopefully they will at least patch a few bugs. We should be able to get one out of the two accomplished.

If you have enough money to buy both games just do that and enjoy both elements. But this is officially the year where I think we can say Live is one deeper mode away from being a complete game. We just have to hope they can grow this year somehow to withstand the onslaught they get from the other game... Because most won't buy two games

I do buy both games, though. Live 19 for online and The One, 2K19 for offline and the deep MyLeague.

I've been a 2K guy since the Dreamcast days that said I pre-ordered Live 19. I'll probably buy 2K on a sale but I needed something new and the gameplay in Live provides that. This game plays beautifully, I've never really been into my player but I know I'm all set with VC and that walk simulator in 2K.

At almost 40 chasing a better career and school I don't have time to be the franchise guy I use to be. Now that I think of it I can't remember the last time I finished a season in 2K. This game should scratch my NBA itch sufficiently.

Monopolies are never good just look at the other sports titles. On that note we need a baseball game for Xbox like the show.

Got some sliders figured out and the game is dialed in.

                Absolutely loving it.

Finished my first game in franchise. Raptors(me) vs Cavs(cpu). Kwahi and the raps came out firing in the first half shooting 70% and Kawhi had 20. Second half the Cavs doubled up on Kawhi and my side went cold finishing at 52% and losing by 3. I loved the momentum kept switching and there was a terrific flow to the game.

I just can’t say enough how much I’m enjoying this game.

Franchise matters. It'd be better to have, but unless something catastrophic happens, live 19 is gonna be good. The one was pretty good, CO op was pretty good, but when I played the NBA on super star I fell in love. All those moves you think can't be defended can, that's all ya need. The only thing that gets me is the little step back but I guess u gotta jump. I don't go fumbling backwards but it's a late contest and vs kd that's wet.

I almost got the cs to a win. Had a tenacious defensive run led by Terry rozier, step couldn't even dribble the ball past half court. The cpu got a few clutch step backs tho and won by 7. I almost put kyrie at the 2 and kept rozier in. Dude was beasting, he even went up and almost dunked on cousins but cuz caught him at the last moment.

I just really like how guys don't bump into each other much like on the break or when driving. I also like how you can absolutely clamp someone down on d. I can't wait to play 5v5. Oh and pulling a j when someone is a step back, I love that. Miss that. Look at their feet, be like man I'm pulling it. Wettt.

And in the end both teams shot shot about 50 percent. They shot 50 on 3s where as I was like 43%. I hope dudes get live this year.

A lot of my guys prol won't but maybe I'll just make new friends. I gotta wear the scarlet letter again haha.

Some quick questions for you. Are you on Ps4 or Xbox? ( can only provide Ps4 specific info but can offer general guidance for Xbox). A quick validation test entails stripping down or reducing picture quality/graphic settings on your TV and Console. To start off, make sure your TV is on Game Mode to improve processing delay. Additionally, place all picture settings (brightness, contrast, color, etc) at mid point or 50. Also, if using 4k, on the Ps4, for example, reduce to 1080p or 720p (depending) and change color from full to 16 bit.

Turn on the game and observe input delay when executing spins and other basic moves. How about more complex moves? If you notice marked improvements then we can work our way up to find an equilibrium between picture quality and game responsiveness. Let me know if other questions.

it won't change the robotic delivery, Van Gundy sounded natural. granted he repeated himself even more but Williams sounds like he's reading a script.

Finished game 2 beat the Celtics by 7. More of the same. Absolute basketball greatness. Celtics came out hot and I started off in the hole. I went on a run to close out the first half up by 6. Second half went up as far as 18 then kyrie took over and brought them back to lose by 7. Kyrie finished with 31 and was a beast second half. Kwahi finished with 26 and nik Stauskas has a good game off my bench and finished with 12.

Literally not 1 bad thing I could say about my first 2 games.

You are not wrong. But I have a hard time understanding what people thought was going to be in the game. We’ve already had months of doom and gloom about the lack of franchise depth. Now it drops, and instead of focusing on what sells the game, we are just getting a repeat of the same doom and gloom.

Live is just fun to play. The better control of your player makes playing locked on to your defender so much more fun. Playing co-op with 2 or 4 teammates is a blast.

Between the crap servers and the sluggish feel of controlling players, 2K was a big reason I did not expect to like Live Run so much, which I never played last year. I was all LUT and Play Now. But LUT may not see much from me at all this year. I have my 5’11”PG up to 86 Passing, and I’m already seeing an increase in assists.

And I love that being so short al most gives me an advantage as some guys just stop guarding me. So I’m scoring my share, too.

I gave this a go in 2K, and I just never liked it. It didn’t help that 2K has always had crap servers, going back to MLB 2K. So I bounced off MyPark hard.

Basketball is different than a lot sports in that there is a robust culture around pick-up games. Most MyPlayer modes are forced and feel like you are missing most of what makes a sport great. In basketball, it’s the opposite.

The only reason I said franchise should be cut is so that it can establish what the game is, so it can judged on that instead of on a solid, but shallow, franchise mode that feels out of place in this game. Calling this less than a AAA game is ridiculous. There are way too many modes with plenty of strategic depth to think that way.

It might not be your cup of tea, but what the devs focused on, it does great. This should review in the 4/5 range, but I expect that reviewers will ding it for a mode that no longer carries the relevance it once did. If I get hundreds of hours of fun gameplay out of a game, then the modes I don’t play don’t matter.

You said it man, Superstar is where this game is at on both sides of the ball! It's more challenging to get into the paint unmolested and when you do end up in the paint, expect to be more heavily challenged by the cpu in all forms. The cpu Also defends pick and roles more effectively on this mode. Also love how the cpu plays on offense at this level, especially around the basket, particularly compared to previous iterations. Of course there are adjustments that have to be made throughout the year ( looking forward to Day 1 patch and subsequent patches and tweaks ) and into the future. We all want the same things for this game, franchise being the most glaring of them. I would like to see some love sprinkled that direction by way of a patch during the season! (I noticed that a dev supported this request in one of the other threads). The devs are clearly aware of the importance of this mode for the community and it's significance to recapturing another substantial demographic. It appears decisions were made based on metrics and analytics we are not privvy to. However I implore folks to continue to hang in there. The key progression is very evident and tangible. Let's keep pushing for improvement but let's not make the mistake of abandoning the product. If this game succeeds, the strength of those numbers must translate into bolstering Franchise and other areas of weakness!

I am really enjoying the simple and non-existent transitions between NBA minutes and the dead time (free throws, in bounds, etc.).

If this doesn’t make sense: I am happy to not see the “2K” logo floating in and out as I “button mash” to inbound the ball or whatever. The game MOVES.

I could be wrong, but going a step even further - and I like this - sometimes I swore after my online opponent scored, the next thing I knew my player/team had already inbounded the ball, and was moving.

There’s no dead air. I’m glad I don’t have to “button mash” to keep the game moving when the clock isn’t ticking. Everything I’m *trying* to describe is making the game look and feel like NBA is on my TV.

One last thing: I’ve been posting to OS only on an annual basis, every year since 2011 asking for those revolutionary off-ball controls from NBA Live 10. These are here.

In summary: the game is fluid and I’m buying Live for first time since the one with Dwight Howard on the cover.
