    Shot Meter

Can someone here talk about Shot Meter for LIVE 19? I hate shot meter to turn on because its just not natural, I don't want to know I will make the shot before the shot actually goes in, is just so stupid and doesn't make sense? Please share.

Yeah you are right. When you see green you know it's going in so it's a bit mixed emotions (relief and takes away the surprise element as well). You can turn it off which is I do usually as well. I suggest you to do it after getting used to the shot styles of the players in your team to understand their release point. If you put it off right away you might struggle to find the correct release point for each player and miss a lot of open shots

Under visuals in the settings menu you can turn off the shot meter. If you don’t like the idea of a shot meter at all you can change game setting for shooting from ratings + skill to just ratings. How long you hold the shot button doesn’t matter if you do that. The game uses the players ratings to determine the outcome of the shot.

The shot meter is the dumbest idea ever, imo. It’s the first thing I turn off, because shooting, like in real life should be based on feel and timing of your release. The meter is also ugly.

Shooting in NBA live is based on timing and feel (ratings, rhythm, openness)

It’s very true to real life shooting, well as good as you can get in a basketball video game.

And yes, “green releases” absolutely exist in real life. I shoot hundreds of shots everyday and there is no better feeling than getting that perfect release.

And usually good shooters have a good idea whether the ball is going in or not as soon as the ball is released from the finger tips.

True. You 90% know if the ball is going in after you release it from the finger tips

The one thing I can really say in defense of the shot meter is at least I know if I lose it was my fault. Lol

My last game I was trying to close out the Celtics and I couldn’t get the release late in the fourth. Completely my fault and I lost. It was nice to know that the cpu didn’t screw me, there was no AI cheese, I just basically choked.

Is there a logic I'm not seeing to whether the meter goes fast or slow?

                        what works for me is:

PvC - watch your jumper amd release same as you would IRL

PvP - watch the meter, not your jumper

Not exact science lol, but it works

                          Re: Shot Meter

I like the shot meter while learning the game and the different players. I actually wish they had feedback for close shots and layups too.

Why would anyone like playing ratings only on shooting? Might as well just watch a game.
