The NBA-PDS error still occurs but very rarely. I play online a lot and haven't experienced it in a while - maybe once in my last 50 games?
As for the quitters/disconnectors, I've only had one person quit and not have the game count, but that was the #1 ranked guy and he obviously knows an exploit to avoid losses. I've gotten a win for every other person who's quit (and it's been quite a few).
This was way worse before the patch where they tuned contested shots. At least now if you have a body on them and are contesting the shot, they'll miss a bunch. Granted, if they're using the Warriors it's still an absurd struggle to go against.
I think the next thing that needs to be tuned is how a user just controls one player and runs back and forth all day, spinning around like a ballerina until he's open for a 3. But that's where fatigue would come in to play like others have mentioned.
