I've made a few different wings and they'll all ended up as small forwards. My guess, although I don't know for sure, is that you'll have to make a guard if you always want to be put in as a guard. Although even then you may end up at point guard.

I like playing power forward, personally, and the only way I've gotten designated as one is if I choose stretch big, which doesn't really suit me. I made a 6'11 rim protector styled after Tim Duncan and ended up a center. I can live with that, but it would be helpful if 'preferred position' was part of character creation.

Still dont quite understand this...So my layup cap for my Hakeem build is 85....can grinding other icons help with that if I want to stay under that build?

I think grinding other icons unlocks other animations.

Re: The One--What Build did you choose?

Got a Westbrook type PG with crazy speed and handles. Love the build but I get destroyed by forward or centers when I try to go up at them for a layup or dunks. I am thinking of starting a 2nd build and want a Vince Carter/Lebron type pure slasher with max 95 dunk is there such build? Not near my PS4 to go through all the builds so if anyone has access let me know. I'd love to plan this out.

            Thank you!

A 6'0 188 Backcourt PG. With John Wall Icon. Undersized but able to shut down players. Size is a factor when I can't truly affect jump shots. Once I get steal timing down, really will be a pest. Offensively once I get my dribbling and mid range up, I will be more consistent because now I play like Rondo. But with John Wall icon path, it raises 3pt shot. I didn't realize I was at 73 3pt shot, so I wasn't attempting them. Next upgrade I can choose to raise it. I want to get it to the 80s before I start attempting them. I'm at 74 now. I'm developing my player in the streets before I play in the league. I want to get my player in the 80s and develop my game before I play in league.

I really like the whole Icon system. It allows you to be more than a one dimensional player. You can now be a 3 &D player, an all around player, complete offensive game. I can be a two way guard and not be a liability

                Question for anyone that knows:

When you unlock the other Icon at Level 40(I think), does that build off what you are currently at with your active icon, or does it replace the attribute boosts?

Where lets say you are a backcourt Slasher, you have Westbrook Icon. Then, you unlock AI Icon. I know each icon mentality boosts some skills. But, do we keep attribute boosts. Like the Plus 3 Speed. Or the icon Skill itself. Like if we max the icon skill and switch icons, do we keep that same rating or does it drop to the default rating.

When you switch to another icon, you keep the skills that are shared between icons, but your icon skill changes. You no longer get the benefits of the previous icon's unique skill, and have to level up the new icon's unique skill.

The stat boosts also change. When you switch icons, you lose the previous icon's stat boosts and have to level up the next icon to unlock its stat boosts.

                  Hope that made sense!

                    It does.
I am close to unlocking the Gary Payton Icon. So I'm curious to see the boosts. But I do like the John Wall Icon path. I get up to 76 3pt and two or three accuracy boosts. So with that and 80s mid range, I can have a decent perimeter game. To go with maxed dribbling, I can have a good two-way game with the John Wall icon path

I'm leveling up the Wall icon, too! The 3-point boosts are really nice, but I wish the game would be a bit more specific about how much of a boost they really are.

Looking forward to trying out Payton's, too. It'll be nice to have an icon ability that activates more often.

I rather have the attribute boost rather than percentage boost. Is it 5% or 10%? Rather have the attributes so I know what to expect.

I do regret making him 6'. Feels like he is too short to contest shots and not tall enough to deflect passes. Really have to get dribbling higher. With 90 speed, can't get any separation. Even when switched on bigs, i can't blow by them since I have low strength. With the low height, the dunks look unrealistic. But I will stick with this build.

Trying out a new icon on my Hakeem post and man do I miss the lay ups. No pun.

I wanna try the on ball d icon. I was a actually pretty disappointed to see you have to re level your icon, you'd think it'd start at 85. Exp thru the icon path makes sense but the actual attribute? Can you max your guy at lvl 100? If you also max two other icons do you run out of points? I think I'm at lvl 80 now and I'm not anywhere near max. My post moves is 81, reb is like 81 or 83. You get two pts at 50 and I'm assuming at 100 too, but mentally that doesn't seem like enough to max out all your icons. Why not?

I've only put two pts in the her icon skill and I might just stick w Hakeem if that's the only way you can max. I dont really need to get my dude any higher but I kinda want to get 95 post moves.

The leveling grind is really a drag. It’s taking way too long to level up if you want to use a couple different icons. I’d say at least a hundredish hours to get to 98 -99 if you are playing live run. Seems like a bad strategy for a game that needs to be broadly accessible to compete in the market.

What do Rim Protectors layups/dunks max at? This 85 layup max for post scorers is killing me. I wish you could bring some of those attributes up by maxing other icons.

95 dunks. They suck at lay ups. I think only deke gets inside scoring. You think 85 lay up is bad switch icons haha. 85 lay up is godly compared to what you'll be doing as anything else. Then you are like a rim protector. But they dunk and you can speed boost and stuff w them. Haha my dude has a max size rim prot and he can jet by people w dribble moves in 3s. But if you play normally you're not gonna make much w a rp unless you're deke icon and shooting inside shots. I notice a lot of my finishes say lay up, so I'm just gonna max Hakeem and not do another icon, I can stick people on ball anyway. I kinda wish there was a different kind of build, cuz I'm still swapping around my 5th. Like if they had Shawn kemp/amare/Blake icon archetype or something. Bigs get **** on. Stretches are zz. Rp can dunk and be fed, plus if you know how to iso cheese, so to me post is still the best big. Cept in 3s it's prol stretch.

I also think Hakeem is by far the best post icon. But just my pov as usual. Without lay ups I am garbage as an iso scorer.
