At this point Live should just probably go all in on the arcade modes. Not sure how they can justify charging $60 for this game. Just not in the same league. Fun though for a change of pace, but not worth $60.

Please don't say that. I want them to add the other modes. The competition would be good...

You didn't talk about the gameplay at all? I  heard the motion is better in Live. Not as many canned animatioins. Creating a more fluid feel. Also how are fast breaks ? This was n't very in  depth. Maybe you could add to it? I could care less a bout modes. Thanks guys you rock.

Live still has a ways to go to catch 2K.  Being on the sidelines so long has really hurt them.   The learning curve might be simpler, but 2K still has the best presentation and deeper content.

Presentation-wise, I actually prefer Live. It has more of a broadcast feel. 2K obviously wins in terms of depth in their various modes, especially franchise. But I feel their presentation is quite overrated, especially the commentary.

You didn't talk about the gameplay at all? I* heard the motion is better in Live. Not as many canned animatioins. Creating a more fluid feel. Also how are fast breaks ? This was n't very in* depth. Maybe you could add to it? I could care less a bout modes. Thanks guys you rock.
Gameplay is much improved, a lot less sliding. Almost no more bunching near the three point line as well.

Pick and rolls are still too potent against AI. I have not, however, upped my difficulty to check if that impacts.

Shooting is better. Less automatic from three. Although I did experience a rubber band effect against a daily challenge where it rained threes via mediocre plays. Drives are SO much better, especially when experiencing contact. Help D also a bit improved...but not much.

Shot blocking is more appropriate. Shorter players will get rejected, but a great deal more varied where the ball ends up. This helps considerably.

Animations seem to be more natural, if that makes sense, versus scripted. Although I never thought 18 was that egregious with it. I do, however, have a criticism with how dunks are handled. A player engaging in a high skill dunk is pretty much invulnerable once initiated.

Fast breaks are quite good, AI d is much improved on getting back. Your teammates fill the lane and space for 3s nicely. You'll see this when playing the Summer League stuff. It appears lob passing on breaks is improved as well. Also, the game will intelligently throw fancy passes on bounce ones during breaks if the lane is there.

I really like this game a lot, especially since all the modes are linked to each other. There's always something new to try, ways of improving your player, and I'm truly enjoying having a female build for a change (to eventually tackle the WNBA). While there's a definite grind to player development, I never feel like Live wants me to spend money to get there.

Personally, I'd give this game an 8.5. I bought 2K for my Switch, as I'm set on the PS4 with this.

Re: NBA Live 19 Review: A Good Experience Online But Faltering Offline

I love live 19 like Bill Walton says I love Larry bird in interviews

People are picking it up, a lot of them have the same complaints. Dudes I met on live 09 (I keep old friends mostly on list, not too social) are like best live ever. And they don't even like live that much any more. I agree. Best live ez.

I get excited to play live. I'm like oo which dude should I play, online or off, etc and the sad truth is a lot of the perimeter stuff I haven't even mastered. I can't zig zag or zig zag cross. Yea there is zig zagging. People say it's too easy to score inside but that's balance. If your build is wing scorer, post anchor, slasher. Or some of the defensive builds with dunks instead of lay ups Yea u can score inside. However, you can stop it. What I feel is live has issues but mostly entry level issues. That and some weird animations or happenings that probably bother people.

You need a shot blocker. You dont need a rim protector but someone needs to be able to. You can make people miss but at high lvl you need a shot blocker. Was playing w two post anchors who were dribble gawds haha. Yea if you take it slow you can actually make your way to the basket with dribble moves vs bad d. Anyway, we lost. They didn't wanna pass me the ball cuz I was low rated. We coulda won. They had game point on an easy lay up and who caught the block? My 6 4 wing defender.

You have to have some team comp. Live is shoddy at low levels but I believe honestly the better you get the more it will resemble real ball and be balanced. It's like an equation where it starts out 2-1 bad things to good things at first look, but the more you realize how the game wants you to play, that it's intuitive, and how many options you have in each situation as well as how you can cut of other people's options, it becomes a good game. I'm pretty stingy w ratings but I still think live is a solid 8. Best bball game I've played in years, ez.

Yeah I'd rate it an 8. It's missing some components but does everything else great. If a 10 is a fantastic nearly perfect game, basically that's Live with fully immersive franchise and a few minor gameplay fixes imo

The career mode is better than 2ks.

I want them to drop the price so I can buy it just for that

Cant give Live a green check on a good online experience until Online H2H is fixed. (Yes these players exist outside of The One) We will see if this current patch has cleaned it up but the NBA-PDS drops still plague the mode...

Well, this might be one of those clubs that does not fit for everyone, I might be lucky enough to be in the general targeted audience. Although it may not be the greatest club, but it's not too bad either

That sucks for sure, but I have a hard time discussing live on this forum. I'll stick to objective things like patch notes and suggestions.

I don't think people "get" live like the vision. They say the controls are clunky its like wat. It's too easy to do x. Canned animations. But the thing is if I drive and you are there I can press diagonal to go around you, you can see that happening and cut me off by doing the same thing. I go into you on the break to bump you back, you gotta bump me first or jump earlier to block. It is animation based but so much of the movement is free, it's just once you start these interactions that animations come into play, and I don't understand why having branching animations and basically neutral zones where two players meet and the timing and buttons of their input determine the outcome is a bad thing.

The actual bad game play is not canned animations but just people spamming dribbles so it's harder to trigger those two person animations and successfully stop them.
