How was the gameplay on Live 10 (last-gen)?

I was thinkin of finding a copy of Live 10 for PS3, how was it gameplay wise (purely offline of course)?



I know it's not gonna be 2k11 or 2k14 but you can't keep playing the same two bbal games lol so I was thinking of trying something different just for the sake of physics (same reason why I usually play the EA NHL games but sometimes use 2k10). Was it buggy? Too arcadey? Fun? etc.


edit: Nvm I'm getting it, one button shooting is all I needed to hear to know.

It was fun, but there were a lot of canned animation sequences, so you're going to see the same animations play out quite a bit, and you'll lose control of your players a lot.

While it didn't have as deep of gameplay mechanics as 2K10 it was actually a more "sim" game.

I fell off the 2k wagon after 2k8. I can't explain what makes me switch but I just "know." live 05 and 06 were good, I felt 07 was gonna be trash (speaking of online cuz I usually got 2k to play offline), so I played 2k7, 2k8, and especially college hoops 2k8. Went back to live for 09 and was introduced to 5v5, had such an expansive group of friends who could get five, we played a lot of games and did a lot of club or whatever it was called. We were Russia. Haha and our team thing was "mother Russia is wet" but 10 was even better than 09 even tho the live run (was it called that back then?) was trash. We played private gms. I think I stayed on ten until like 2k13. So I got a lot of online play out of it, but I wouldn't recommend it now. In general unless a game is like college hoops 2k8, it doesn't age well. That's why I take it to heart when people say live 18 isn't even better than 10. Played the **** out of 10 but that's some ridiculous stuff to say.



There was some cheese too. Gaming has come a long way since then. I remember the full court oops, or was that 09? Our squad pg was always pissed cuz I'd be like oop it as soon as he got the ball. He's like man u trying to get me turnovers I can't even see you. It's like trust me I'm in position. Haha. It wasn't "Sim" but it was fun and competitive. Live is way more Sim now imo.

Live 10 is still fun today, it was the only year "mike Wang" worked for them when he left 2k then he went back to 2k a year later, but you can see the improvement from 09 in 10, it's like night and day. Wang knew what direction they were heading after with Elite, so he left. We all know how that turned out!
