I am not one of the two, but personally, 2k has played in slow motion to me. Players dunk in slo mo, and I always felt like I had no control over my player.

On defense, the input lag, even offline, is pretty bad.

Live plays at a realistic speed, it's much easier to pick up and play, and it's a fresh change of pace.

The gameplay just plays and feels better to me. 2k has more offline modes, way more depth in franchise. But for the one mode, my player, and online head to head, I love live.

What zrohman said for sure. The game just flows so much better. Everything happens faster. I love the animations. I love how the players interact with the arenas, crowds, players on the bench, camera men.

More than anything though I’ve found a perfect balance with the sliders that the outcome feels like it’s solely up to me not a dice roll like 2k. I figured out sliders that make the shot meter difficulty just right for me so that if I lose(I’m at 500) it’s usually because I shot bad. Also because I made it tough, getting a perfect release just feels so good.

Lastly in my opinion I think Lives graphics are waaaaaaay better.

Well I think it's 19.99 now, I got it when it was 39.99. I'm personally just exhausted from 2K. 2K is great, but it feels like small incremental updates every year. And the game visually looks outdated, every year I gotta install the same mods over and over again.

I grew up with Live so I'm kinda loyal to them. But what I like about Live is the player motion, it's very very nice this year some of the way the player cuts and moves is very nice. Gameplay wise it's fun in a casual way, I feel 2K has become a game where you gotta kinda consistently run plays to play properly. In Live, I do run plays but not as much .If your looking for fun/casual fun you should play Live.

Oh something else I really like about Live is the star players on other teams are very good like I played the Lakers and LeBron destroyed me, played the Raptors Kawhi killed it. It plays smooth.

Picked up Live 19 yesterday, so looking forward to checking out the full version. I enjoyed the demo and also had fun with 18, so no reason to think I won't find some enjoyment out of 19.

Your getting it at the right time. The insanity of the over done gameplay patch has subsided and the game is back to being its super fun arcade/sim hybrid.

I have played more of this than any other sports game in recent memory. It’s honestly my sports game of the year.

Played a game this morning and steals on passes toned way down. I play 12 minutes on Superstar and I'm a little sad that it's pretty much back to how it was. I had a 50 point lead at the end of the third quarter and was able to get to the rim and open 3's pretty easily. Before patch I struggled getting open looks and now I can get them.

Wish they could balance that without crazy steals on simple passes.

Also, I'm not seeing the cpu blocks you guys are.

Cpu does block but like I said it's more them meeting you instead of sucking you in, and you can go around them. Online is back to how it was mostly, better or worse, dudes trying to drive every time. Got some dudes hitting threes right in my face. Still I enjoy it more. The game seems imo like launch but a little more polished. The passing lanes v cpu being more open wasn't something I exactly wanted but the fact that it also toned down auto steals is a good thing. I like getting steals just not auto steals.

Gm is on the right track again. Imo. Also so glad the post hook is back, and standing lay up

That's the biggest selling point for me!!! And if i lose it's challenging and fun. I don't feel cheated.

Think I enjoyed the demo gameplay more than where the game is currently at. Couldn't get any real open looks, as the CPU denies everyone the ball. Blocks are overdone and the missed layups/inside shots for HUM compared with ÇPU are unbalanced.

I'll have to look at messing with sliders to see if I can loosen this game up a bit.

Perhaps but you don't have to be 2k open. You are only " not open" when it says " guarded", as in you're taking a really tough shot. Contested isn't open but u can make those on superstar. It's kinda cool how the percentages work out. Would be nice to get real open looks not on drives but I dunno. The game is balanced w lightly contested shots being the norm.

Just pull it. Got some pump fakes going too. Once the cpu starts doubling you obviously will get wide. But driving to a spot to bring help isn't gonna get a guy open like it does in 2k.

Like if I'm play the one on superstar and I'm pushing the break and a hit a guy with someone looking like they can close on him, I'm pressing the button for him to shoot and he's gonna make it most of the time. Same w hitting people in the post then having them shoot. Sometimes it's even set up open teammate. You can get open by going forward too.

My only big complaint is those stupid less than one second perimeter shot fouls that are still in the game. They should be super rare.

First game of my Suns franchise Kawhi dropped 36 on me, unstoppable.

Question for all: How the hell do you guys create space to get a shot? People just glued on me. I'm tryna get some space to shoot with Booker but it just aint happening

Getting space is tough. It’s one of the areas I think a lot of people could get turned off from Live. It’s a necessary evil in my opinion though, or you’d be green releasing all day. 2ks shot meter is way harder to get a perfect shot and they decided to do a more ratings/dice roll type mechanic where live is more user dependant which I preferred big time. If I lose I usually couldn’t time my releases that game. So once you figure out how to generate good looks and get space in Live it’s very rewarding.

Plays don’t generally work so your going to have to freelance. Here’s what I do.

1: the easiest is the half spin step back jumper. If you get an angle where you are about to get by the defender hold down on right stick and you do a step back jumper. If you try and do it with the defender in front of you it’s probably contested. If you try when your almost by the defender he often stumbles and your wide open.

2: You are most likely to get help defense if you get a mismatch so try and dribble move by him. When the help D comes you should have a man wide open.

3: The Handoff. I do a lot of handoffs around the outside. The defense will sometimes double on the receiver leaving the player who handed off wide open. The other thing that happens is the player receiving the handoff sometimes gets a step on his defender and gets an easy drive or sometimes even gets help D from another spot on the floor leaving a man open.

4: pick and pops work sometimes as well.

                                5. Try some plays out. Some work, most don’t but you can find some that work ok.

Lastly, and I’ve said this a few times. I think the cpu recognition of what’s a contested shot is a little off. I highly recommend turning shot contest down to 25.
