How long has sliding been apart of the live franchise..

It is so annoying being pushed out of bound in a tight ball game.. & annoying in general.. & why don't they fix this obvious flaw..

Live has had this for years. Ask someone at EA and they might throw this "momentum" garabage at you. It's not momentum, it's a design flaw.

The sliding has been apart of NBA Live since the very first NBA Live 95. I remember playing on the Genesis and SNES and having that feeling of playing on a ice rink. I dont think it'll go anywhere anytime soon. Its part of they're design.

While there's no excuse for it today, when NBA Live 95 debuted the sliding was a welcome change from the extremely stiff player movement in NBA Showdown 94. It gave the game a quicker, more freewheeling feel.

Of course, 10 years later some proper player movement is long overdue.

I certainly hope not. It really should have happened with this generation, or even the 32-bit generation. I'm not a programmer, so I can't speak with authority on this, but I really can't see any reason why this can't be addressed. Other companies have clearly been able to develop basketball games that feature more realistic player movement.

Having said that, I've never really had THAT much of a problem with the sliding in the versions of NBA Live that were more realistic (2000, 2004, 2005). It's goofy looking, and gives the game a hockey-like feel, but for whatever reason I've never been too upset about it.

I just hate sliding out of bounds when i'm going up against a aggresive defender.. The boundry force field is another complaint of mine.. Overall the games good & I'm enjoying it..

EA has to completly destroy the current engine and build a new one from scratch.
