Re: NBA Live 19 Developers Looking For Gameplay Feedback & Gameplay Feature Improveme
For start, I'm talking about tendencies that were in the game 10 years ago and more. Of course, by now it's dated - but we don't even have it as is.
Let me edit what players prefer doing - shoot, pass, shoot from whete, drive etc. This is 10-12 years behind and it's not even in the game.
I should have sent my resume to Synergy - you get paid for years for doing NOTHING! What a fantastic idea for a business. Why didn't I think of that?
Seriously, it's ridicoulous to beg to developers to add something we used to take for granted 10 years ago.
Never ever trust EA's roster updates, never. All they do is put the right players on the right teams (and even that not always get done). Anything else, you need to edit eith your very limited tools. Always make your own edits...and we need tendencies for that.
Live 19 + tendency editing + animation editing = amazing. And this is coming from someone who @#$%^*!~***** EA.
yea I mean, succinctly: there are already tendencies in the game whether they are wrong or not, it still plays very blah v cpu. It's hard to imagine the game being 'better than 2k' in that aspect if you could edit some numbers that you'd assume EA already is editing (and hasn't shown much change imo.)
Like v me in 2k or Live, the cpu is never gonna get a clean look. At least not one that isn't related to a rebound/cpu defender doing something wonky (or post ups, sometimes.) What I mean is... they need players to do more odd things, like pull a step back randomly or pull a J right in your face. You can't create personality, but if you add in some of that stuff, it doesn't feel like every possession is 23 seconds of the cpu passing then maybe making a contested J.
Speaking from Live 10 perspective, I never was impressed w/ Synergy. I'm telling you, the cpu forcing more bad shots would change the game in a way where tendencies matter. Right now, I don't think they do. But agree 2 disagree.

Re: NBA Live 19 Developers Looking For Gameplay Feedback & Gameplay Feature Improveme
I still think the A.I. needs work. I don't play online and I actually rather enjoy career mode more on Live because it's more open ended and you don't have to follow a forced storyline like on 2k but the CPU A.I. just doesn't feel authentic to me. CPU fouls on 3 point shots too much and I still feel like I'm seeing an excessive number of blocks.
I do feel like there's a lot of potential with the game. The lighting is great, player models look great, and the movement does look more authentic than 2k.NCAA: Kentucky Wildcats
MLB: Atlanta Braves
NBA: San Antonio SpursComment

I disagree on the “Frostbite is bad” take.
Battlefront 2, Anthem, , etc.
As soon as the developers of LIVE become more familiar with their pool of development resources(Frostbite is proprietary to EA and its partners), the games will get much better. It’s about development skills and unfamiliarity with a new tool. It’s not even listed as one of the top 5 used tools in gaming development. Coming out of “school” the new devs mainly know “Unreal”, “Unity”, “CryEngine” etc., dev tools as starting points. Frostbite is still new to sports. No one really complains how the Frostbite games look, just how they “move” in the current sports games. I think they will get that right.
As far as gameplay, I think EA needs to add in walking and walk up animations and more team specific/archetype specific plays . I think it wold help with game pace and play calling. I think the current pace of play is good but adding in that extra speed “gear” will help with burst movements, setup strategy, timing, and court spacing.
For tendencies, personally I’d prefer they utilize a system that automatically updates UNBIASED player tendencies for online play while allowing some editing for specific offline play(franchise specifically ) since it’s a closed ecosystem outside of cloud saves. They have access to much more data than even the most dedicated roster maker can replicate in game for realism, and is a reason synergy was generally disappointing. As a system, Synergy was a brilliant idea, but as a tool it wasn’t always consistently working the way users wanted.
Lastly I feel we need some sort of competitive online league(s). That’s where we re-create the rivalries, form more communities and recreate the journey of the NBA with like minded friends with the added ability to create our own NBA worlds.

Shots closer to the rim shouldn't have to be green to go in only shots further away.

Re: NBA Live 19 Developers Looking For Gameplay Feedback & Gameplay Feature Improveme
As a feature they should include online leagues and cross platform match making. Cross-play would be huge as no other sports games really offer it, just the EA shooter games.
Make the same “game face” available for all EA games that feature unique customizable character creation.
