Give and Go

how do you throw an alley oop off a give and go

i cannot do it anymore and i use to be able to do it.

I hold down A and activiate the give and go, I'll go past my defender and hit the Z button (game cube) and nothing happens. I use to do this all the time but i don't know what button i was using
