It's a damn good game!

I've played it alot online (yes even though they don't update rosters!), but after getting bored with 2k5. I have actually sat down and played live offline for the past couple of weeks and it's really good. I think overall it's probably better than 2k5.

Nothing beats the feeling in live 05 when you can actually draw contact and go to the stripe!

2K5 is missing this part of the game completely, yeah....you can go the line, but you can't initiate contact like you can in Live.

I was really surprised.

I don't know why I wrote this....but whatever.

i agree.. i've actually been playing live mroe then 2k5, although i still play 2k5..

the only thing i wish theyd tone down with live is the damn super speed spin move.

I cant iamgine how you played online man, that spin move is like a super cheese play online, turbo spin move all up and down the court.. online.

Live is a great game. I've had many games where I've been to the line more than 25 times. In ESPN 2K5 that was impossible.

only things i couldnt stand, the blocks and generic gameplay.. its a good game just to play with the boys and talk stats and stuff.

neither game (espn or nba live) get the true sim aspect 100% right.

I do love Live but the A.I. seems cheesy instead of good. Sometimes, I'm a little frustrated cause I play with the Bulls and so many teams make Eddie seem nonexistent. Not by skill or reading, but by a type of cheating. Like I play the Nets and Cliff Robinson is blocking everything Curry puts up. Not realistic. The fouling is good within the game but it's a little to unbalanced. Not enough reaching fouls and too many unrealistic blocks by non-defensive players.

I like 2K a little after the patch was updated. That might be a little bias too cause I have 2K on XBOX & Live on PS2. Don't know. Still, I thin the fouling is quite undercalled within 2K. Not enough collision like when you're just facing up the offensive player. Collision is okay but could definitely be more specific with the speed and stuff. They have to get all that fixed. If they're incorporating the Next Movement, don't have it in only 10% of the game. Implementing it.

Both games are entertaining but they both came up a little shorter than they should have though in certain parts, they clearly excel above each other. I do want to see what the next season is going to bring out. Hope they're worth the money....

But as far as the shot blocking online it can be prevented!!! That's the reason why they have the shot change option. The only thing i hate is that some last second shots don't count when they should!!! I was down 81(Mavericks)-79(Me-Sonics)with I say 2.6 seconds left and the ball was inbounded to Shawn Bradley. Ray Allen stole the ball and dunked it as time expired and they didnt give me the bucket!!!! I wish I could've got "the Mike Miller treatment"!!! But other wise Live is the best game out!!!!! Its the only game I play!!!!!!!!

I just can't say that either game can get the "great" title this year because they both came up a bit short which took a lot out of the gameplay for me in one way or another. ESPN is a great game of equal interest to me. Just gotta hit them wishlists up and hope that they hear us....

I picked up the GC version of Live 05 last week, and am pretty disappointed so far. If the game could get out of its own way, it would be quite good, but the controls are too unresponsive and overly complex to be much fun (at least on the GC). Not since NBA Jam '99 on the N64 have I felt so frustrated by controls in a basketball game. My hands actually get tired after a few minutes of play, as the sluggish controls and magnetic defensive AI makes it feel like you are fighting non-stop for control of your own players. I'm impressed by the fact that you really need to move the ball and work for good shots, but that is overshadowed by the rubber-band AI, unrealistic number of blocks and poor visual presentation.

I'm glad most of you are enjoying Live '05, unfortunately it mostly makes my hands, eyes and head hurt when I try to play it.

I just traded in the XBOX version for the PC version and I'm loving it.

I never thought I could enjoy Live this year but it's been great on PC. The graphics are not bad if you have a good card.

I'm using Sonics roster edits also and am having some great games. For some reason, the consoles struggle but the PC has breathed life into this game for me.

Live is fun, and if you have two players who want to play a real game of basketball it can be very rewarding. Unfortunately, what you get online is a bunch of people interested in taking one of the top players and spinning, spinning, spinning, spinning...spinning...and dunking.

I just played for the first time in a while today and I played two games where I felt like I actually played really well. I lost by 20 and 23 respectively, as Ray Allen and Kobe put up about 50 a piece, all thanks to my opponent deciding to run back and forth across the key doing pirouettes. It was so ridiculous that I couldn't even be angry about it.
