I did an updated roster from prior to the most recent season's slew of moves. I doubt I'm going to update again, but if anyone wants it, PM me or let me know if you want me to re-post it. It only allows you to save the franchise, but I have every team selected so if you want to do more updating and continue your franchise....have at it.

I have heard all the talk about Inside Drive so I was thinking of picking it up. However, I decided to read a few reviews and watch some gameplay movies on the net and it doesn't look to positive. I was wondering what made this game so wonderful (Inside Drive 2004)? I seems to be revered around here as the best of all Bball sims, but I didn't see that in the reviews or videos.

Because you could set it so it wasn't a run-and-gun fest like Live.

don't read so much into those reviews. you really need to purchase and play the game for yourself. very in depth and challeging game.

i have them both, LIVE2000, ID 2000 pc, and ID 2004. they're must haves for bball purest...
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

Honestly, you'll need to get adjusted to how crude ID looks and feels in the beginning, and I'll be the first to admit that. I'd also like to say that I still feel it plays the best game of basketball. ID's strength lies in its fundamentals and substance. It's a game that doesn't have much style going for it, but when you actually just want to play sim NBA basketball, this is your best choice. Players play just like they do in real life, teams play like they do in real life. The AI reacts to what you do on the court, and the offensive and defensive options in the game are simply unmatched to this point.

I only played the first and last ID (2004?). Was the last one the best or was it like some of the 2K games where a previous version did something better?

2004 was an awesome game btw.

2004 was the best of the series easily.

ID was one / the only basketball franchise that actually took a base and added to it each year.

Nothing was removed...they simply added and added.

2002 was way too fast and 2003 had rebounding issues.

The biggest let down was they kind of built tooslowly.

From 2002 to 2004 they still had half the players with generic faces, the crowd + atmosphere was still crap + the commentary hardly ever changed. (What you thought was cool in 2004 was very old for us who'd played all the series etc)

The series really needed to take one 'giant' step. Where it took all that was good and then added presentation / graphics / crowd sounds / basketball atmosphere.

Unfortunately, it never really make that quantum leap and died off as a result.

I never understood why an XBOX exclusive game had poor graphics and horrible sound / no atmosphere. Strange...because the potential was there for it to be the best NBA series by a mile.

2004 was the best in the series but my favorite was 2003. Looking back it had its flaws, but I can say confidently that some of my best times playing videogames were with ID 03. From the real FAs to the legends you could unlock in create a player, ID 03 was just a great great game...

i liked 03 better also. very few players had to be added by users because almost all were in fa list. they screwed up 04 with fake names and inability to edit names and much fewer relevant fa. also their rosters (03 and 04)could onlyy be saved in a "season" file which was a problem.

i am glad to see id influences making their way into the 2k series. they need to add all the tendencies and more to individualize ea player as much as possible. i hope EA takes notice and adds tendencies also
