    Ronnie Fields --ID2003

I don't know if you guys knew this, but Ronnie Fields did the motion capture for ID2003.

He's playing in the CBA and is tearing it up. I watch him play most home games in Rockford, and he's got so much offensive talent it hurts. He can take anybody off the dribble at anytime, and you wanna talk about a sweet fadaway. Nobody has a fadaway like Mike except Ronnie. He also plays amazing defense and leads the league in steals.

Unfortunately, with everything he has going for him, he's only 6'3" so that hurts his chances.

Anyway, just thought some of you Ronnie Fields fans might want an update. He's done moves that only mike can attempt in a game... as far as athelticism, I've never seen a better athlete... too bad he may never get the chance to showcase what he can do in the NBA. The CBA All-Star game is Tuesday and he's starting. That's his big chance with scouts from every NBA team attending...

    GOOD LUCK RONNIE!!!!!!

    Re: Ronnie Fields --ID2003

I posted about him in the college sports forum the other day. Basically Ronnie was KG's teammate in HS at Farragut. I saw him play when they played in the Coca-Cola Shootout. He was damn good...he basically is a legend around in Chicago, but before the draft that year he got into a car accident. His outside game wasn't that good, and I imagine still isn't good enough. He's 6'3 and that's not exactly short for a PG, and is definitely not the reason he's not in the league, it's other things, whatever they may be (now) that are keeping him out.

I think it's his height and the fact that he doesn't have a great outside jumper, though it's much better. I've been watching him for the past couple of years, road tripping around and and seeing most home games.

He's the best defensive guard in the minor basketball leagues and has won numerous All Defensive awards. He's also shown great ability to get his teammates involved and can take ANYBODY off the dribble. I've seen very few with moves like Ronnie.

I think all he needs is a chance. I've seen about 60+ games of his in the past couple years and every time I'm amazed no one has picked him up. I will say he is a scorer, pure and simple, and I don't think too many NBA players think they can get a sufficient scorer from the CBA. They look for good rebounders, great passers, etc...

It's a mystery to me. Currently he leads the CBA in points per minutes and steals. The All-Star game is Tuesday, which I'm going to, so I think this is his big chance. If he shows up with a big game, then he'll be on his way.
