    Inside Drive 2003 Slider Settings?

    Howdy,

I just grabbed ID 2003 at EB today. The guy said MS was dropping prices for its games, and I got ID 2003 for $30.

So far I like the game. Excellent graphics and nice gameplay. The Isometric camera is good, too.

Anyhow, does anyone have any complete slider settings for the game to make the game realistic as far as statstics and gameplay go?

I've fiddled with the sliders a bit, but I'd like to see what others have done.

    Thanks,

    Alanb

        Honestly?

You don't need any. The game plays fine the way it is shipped, at least in my opinion.

I run with 9 minute quarters and get very realistic numbers. The score totals MAY be a little on the high side, but when you sim with 12 minute quarters, you'll actually have a shot to equal some of the point totals of the other teams.

Just try playing a few games with the default slider settings and quarters set to 9 minutes. I think you'll find it's realistic enough.

Re: Inside Drive 2003 Slider Settings?

To tell the truth the sliders at default are pretty good. When you first start out your stats may be a little high, but once you get the feeling for the game you should realize that making a good gameplan for you opponent is the key to stopping the other teams.

Also I found that decreasing certain sliders make certain players less effective. For example if you lower 2 point fg's, you may achieve lower fg %. Now lets say I'm the Rockets and I want to attack the other team with Francis on isolation plays. Natural he shoots a lot of fg inside the 3 pt. line.

Doing this would effect Francis more than say...Webber, who has the jumpshot, hookshot, low post moves etc.

I think that if the sliders are moved they all should be moved the same number of slots in all categories to keep all players balanced.

I think that slowing the gamespeed down actually make it easier to play defense also, which gives you the opportunity to play better defense, offense, rebound, etc.

Well anyway we all need to get together and discuss ideas to maybe come up with good sliders. We also need to explore options on getting to the foul line more often.

I once got T-Mac to shoot about 20 something freethrows, but since I've slowed the game down the most I've got was 12 for the entire team.(any team)

            Try Allstar Level

            9-10 minutes

            Gamespeed 0 or 1

Go into each game with a gamplan to slow down the other team's scoring threats.(only double scoring threats, defensive pressure high for all positions, get good sized matchups, etc)

            Control the tempo

Also fellas between Dead or Alive 3, NFL 2k3, Project Gotham Racing, and Moto GP which game is deeper and and leaves you with a greater experience. Add in Hitman 2 and Timesplitters.

                Agreed.

After a lot of games, the only things I have touched are 2pt % down one, Steals down two and (completely personal preference) I have dunks down 3 notches.

The only thing that really needs to be 'updated' (rather than 'fixed') is someindividual PLAYER AI. ie increase Stoudemires role in the Phoenix offense, increase Yao's in Houston / decrease Mobley slightly to update them with how their teams play. Increase someone like Thomas at NY for example as McDeyss is done for the season.

Go into individual AI and raise the "involvement in the offense " slider. Realy personal preference though.

I pretty much agree, though I do push 2 pointers down because I make a ton of jumpshots on default.

I do have one problem though, and that's that I get WAY too many rebounds with my PF and C.

THey always get like 15-20 bounds each.

Other than that, it's perfect. Any way to correct the rebounding? Maybe I'll have to switch around and rebound with other guys....

                    Great game.

Control either PF or C. You probably won't get over 15 rebounds by yourself (I don't). Set defensive rebounding to high. Now my SG, PG and SF get around 5 rebounds per game. PF and C 10-15 depending how they perform offensively.

Agreed also. I never set my team offensive rebounding any higher than normal otherwise it can be a problem.
