Increase the player speed a bit. That'll give you the ability to go after blocking fouls. Use the pivot button a lot to face up against the defender and shoot it. You have to DRAW fouls in this game, and I think it's actually pretty realistic. It took me a while to figure it out but now I'm getting quite a few FT attempts. And not only from blocking fouls. I get quite a bit of shooting fouls and reaching in fouls when a team's over the limit to send me to the line along with some pushing fouls as well, which all result in free throw attempts. Be patient on offense, pressure the defense to reach in and try to take the ball from you, use picks, isolate yourself against a weak defender, start using the crossover button (there are times when the defender will just try to reach in because there's no help d provided which can either result in just a foul or a foul and a free throw attempt). Basically, you NEED to know how to attack the defense. Playing passively won't get you anywhere. Not even when you drive to the basket a lot. If it doesn't put pressure on the D to stop you, or you don't come close to a defender so he can do something about stopping your drive, you're not going to get fouled. As for the opposition, switch up your defense whenever they seem to solve it or whatever, and eventually you'll make defensive stops and foul them as well.
