    ID 2003 questions...

Ok...I'm a little sick of NBA 2K3, and I'm trying to get into ID 2003.

I'm a little sick of just how damn easy 2K3 is. I've tweaked it around Arenas' and The Ultimate 2K3 sliders, and I don't think it can get much better. I have close games, and sometimes lose, but I get sick of 75% of the game being repetitive, unrealistic plays, until the 4th where it gets tough.

That...and the fact that I can woop the comp's *** half the time. The game never plays like real NBA teams. Not nearly as much as ID 2003. If sega made the comp play more competitivly through the entire match, and not just the 4th, this game would be perfect.

So...I started playing ID2003. MUCH more interesting. Interesting plays, runs, realistic styles of play.

However, my only concern is, the game seems to be alittle too hard at times, and seems to put up too many points. I saw Pierece go for 30 in a half...and I stopped playing with the Blazers against the Clips when it was clear we would get well over 100 each pretty easily.

I really like this game from frist impressions. I just wanted to ask you guys, do you find you get realistic stats? Does the comp continually light it up?

I want to keep playing it, but not if these problems continue. I had this prob with 2K2. I even lowered the scoring sliders, but it didn't seem to help.

So yea, hope this post is clear.

    peace

EDIT: Also, I should say I HATED ID 2003 at first, lmao. But I can see enough for me to go back to it.

2 pt field goals down 2 clicks, 3 pt fg's down 1 click, player speed down 1 or 2 clicks (your preference), quarters at 7-10 min depending on your style of play (7 for if you're a run-n-gunner, 10 for methodical walk-it-up types)
you may have to mess around with a few settings to find a good groove for yourself.
I also turn the steals down 2 clicks and blocks up 2 clicks (the higher block rating makes you work harder to find clean looks and increases the shooting fouls cuz the cpu is more aggreessive around the basket.)

Hey thanks for the suggestions. I have sort of been waiting to see if someone put up something like this. I knew it would take a bit, because it seems like ID 2003 is more in Vogue now that at the beginning. I can't wait to check these out. I too have scored a LOT of points (blazers scored 145 on me one game), so I was trying to see what I could do to take some of that away.

I have my settings similar to HMcCoy. I play 9 min quarters and get scores around 70-110. It varies.

                CPU and user 2pts -2
                CPU and user 3pts -1
                Speed +2
                CPU blocks +3
                User blocks -1
                CPU and User steals -4

There are some other but I can't remember. The bottom line is, play games and change them to suit your game. I was blocking the CPU too much and never getting blocked so I just adjust mine to suit the game better.
