ID 2003: 8 min. or 9 min. qrts?

With 8 minute qrts. I'm getting around 18-22 FG attempts a game, and that's good. But with 9, it sems sort of too high.

    What are you're opinions?

I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I started a franchise with 12 min quarters, but where that was ok for NBA2k3, it is just way too long in ID. I'm going to look at it for a bit and check it out, but 8 or 9 seems good. THe one thing I would point out is that since free throw attempts are relatively low, it may behoove (sp) you to have a few more fg attempts to keep your scores up there with the rest of the league. Also, I read earlier, the only thing you changed in the settings was 2pt shots down 2 notches for both CPU and human, correct?

Are you sure you didn't mean FT attempts? Because 22 FG attempts seems pretty low...

I think (although I may not be sure), that he meant 18-22 FG per quarter (so 75-90 per game). But I'm not Mr. Hopp, so this is just an assumption.

Wally, I just tried a 9 min quarter game, my Lakers Vs. Knicks, and things seemed pretty good. Shots were a tad higher than they should be, but everything else seemed right on target. I don't think I'd want to play on 8 min quarters, mostly because I shot 51% and had 106 pts which seems fairly realistic. Had I had the quarters at 8, 51% shooting may not have even got me over 100, which would not be too realistic. BTW everything was on default, but it was an AWESOME game (even though I lost) . I did come back from down by 13 early, but couldn't get it over the hump.

Your assumptions were right. I meant 18-22 a Quarter.

                    I've played through many games.

I turned dunks down 1 notch, and it may go down to 2 really soon. Some of the dunks are a bit too flashy. Also I may turn down Deke's 2 notches as well because I saw shaq doing Crossovers and dribbling between his legs effectively.

At default, my fg% was way too high, as well as the CPU. It was anywhere from 52% to 60%.

But with the 2 pt.ers down 2, I find that games are in the low 30's to low 50's. hey range drasticailly.

Also with the 2 pointers down two notches, scoring at 8 minute qrts is way too low at times. I may go back up to 9.

3 pointers tend to be made almost all the time if you give them the time of day. Guys like Brian Shaw and Derek Fisher and just torch me. I may turn this down 1 notch.

                    Here are my current settings

                    Broadcast Camera
                    9 minute qrts.
All-star Level with Fouls on Strict and all the other gameplay rules ON.

                    Speed at Default.
Down 2 or -2 notches for 2 pointers for CPU and User
Down 1 or -1 notches for 3 pointers for CPU and User
Down 1 or -1 notches for Dekes for CPU and User
Down 2 or -2 notches for Dunks for CPU and User.

Steals seem to be OK so far for me. I tryed raising the FT notches to the max, but that just increases their % at the line. It doesnt help you get there.

Give those a shot. I think they're pretty realistic so far.

All of your slider settings seem to be what I had pretty much thought about too (and what I had read on other posts). I really enjoyed my game on default sliders and 9 min quarters, and may keep it there, however, I did shoot 51%. But thanks for your thoughts, and I'll give them a try. If only we could get to the line more...

P.S. Isn't Broadcast camera great? My roommate always will come in and glance at the game and think it's a real broadcast for a second.

I've tryed many diff. camera angles. I like them all in a way.

I can play High stash at times. Even the low.

I played one game on Iso metric. IT's really great.

I just hooked up dolby Digitial 5.1 to my XBOX and for those who think that the atmosphere was dull, they should try playing with the sound level up. It gets like ARCO arena in my room. Lol.

With the dunks down 1 or 2 notches, some of the big time players will still do big dunks. But I saw too many from guys like Devean George, Brian Shaw, and Wally Szczerbiak.
