Well. I found it hard stopping D. Fisher with Earl Boykins. So , in that game, I just took control of my PF and tryed stopping S. Walker.

Which of course let to a 25 point blowout loss.

I say, just keep on practicing and practicing.

You can always go into the controller options, and turn the Crouch/Defensive stance, button to a constant. That way your players are always in the defensive stance.

Other than that, I need practice of my own. My user record is 0-5.

Sorry if I can't help right now.

Which team are you using? If you are using a team with some good shot blockers, use a bit of 3-2 zone to stop the drive and REALLY pressure the three point shooters (or they will burn you when you employ a zone)

Also, know your oppostion. I beat Washington using a zone and blokcing the lane...I gave up a lot of 3's and they missed a lot. Therefore I got easy boards and they normally got one possesion only.

Conversely, New Orleans and Boston killed me when I tried this on them. They just went off from long range.

A lot depends on who you are using and who you are playing.

Just like the NBA, adjust to every game.

This is the first game I have ever played where match up's are important.

I just hit the double team button when their scorers get the ball. And take a big man out to double team. If you notice, when you hit the double team button, the defender gets a few steps closer and plays tighter D. Forces him to pass the ball. I am 4-1 playing this way, so don't go saying I don't know what I'm doing. I win by about 10 all the time.

I'm struggling a bit myself, but I am 7-7 with the HorriBulls, so I'm not doing too badly.

First of all, look at the defense ratings of your players. Anybody under 60 is going to have some defending issues. Try to have your best defenders guard their best scorers (as long as there isn't a huge size mismatch). I actually made some trades for defense in my season -- first time I've ever done that in a basketball game.

Before the game, edit your coaching matchups. Use high pressure on good shooters, although if you're getting beaten off the dribble a lot, go back to normal. For double-teams, I use paint for post guys, always for teams with one or two good scorers (like the Celtics) and perimeter for guys like Peja.

I recommend mixing your D up -- switch between zone, man, and full court. I often use full court when the backup guards are in for the other team -- they tend to crack more and turn the ball over. When the CPU goes on a run, switch your D to keep them off balance.

Anyway, good luck. The game is definitely a challenge.
