A FEW ID2003 Questions for the Diehards...

Is there a way to SEE what play your coach is calling ??....I have no idea what play my offense is setting up for each drive and I dont want to keep manually having to select a play from the D-pad. Isnt there an option like in NBA 2K3 where you can set your play calling settings to AUTO/with Message or something so it will display the play on each drive on the screen?

Also, is it possible to choose more then one type of ZONE defense during gameplay?.....When you select ZONE from the D-PAD, how do you know if it's calling a 3-2, Box-1, 1-2-2, 2-3, ect?

Also if you have your coach set to AUTO for playcalling, if you select an offensive or defensive play from the D-PAD on one drive, does the coach take over afterwards and adjust the play calling to his preference or does the game keep running the play you chose from the D-PAD until you change it again?

    thanks!

I don't think there is. That would be a good suggestion for ID 2004 though.

Yes, all you have to do is go into the defense menu when you press start, then select from man-to-man, zone 3-2, zone 1-2-2, half court trap, and full court press. Along with this you can tell the help D to focus on the middle, the outside, off-hand, etc. It's really very varied and there are a NUMBER of combinations that might prove effective. Of course, you have to keep adjusting as the teams figure you out.

If you use the d-pad to select an offensive play on one possession, I'm pretty sure if the playcalling is set to auto, the coach will take over and call the plays for the other possessions unless you specify otherwise.

        No.

This SHOULD be in the game.

I have played enough games now that I can read at least what type of play has been called as the play evolves pretty well. Definitely this is cool and it's raised my appreciation for ballers and how many plays they have to know.

However, for a game, it's a bit too much. There has to be an option to see if your running an inside play, three pointer, cutter etc.

2K3 gets this spot on. I just wish 2K3 actually has more plays...you don't even need to be told in that game as there are so few
