    Increase speed in ID 2003?

Anyone think of increasing the player animation speed in ID 2003? IMHO, it should be a few notches to the right of default, or at least that's what I think, from just playing a couple of games. No, I'm not getting realistic stats (I haven't really played the game that seriously with this setting), but I've noticed that player animation speed, if increased, allows the defenders and such to recover much quicker if they compromise their position. It becomes tougher to outrebound the AI and to cover them defensively. At least that's the way it seems. I'll try it out some more, but I was wondering if anyone else notices the same thing?

    Sure, it's nice.

Only problem is when you go above the lowest speed, ID becomes more of an arcadish game than a sim because of the unrealistic stats.

    They gotta fix this.

I don't think that's entirely true. I thought the same way with NBA 2k2, but after almost a year of playtime, I actually got the hang of it, and I had pretty realistic stats for the most part. and I always play with 12 minute quarters on all-star. I really do believe that it's your SKILL level that determines how well you can keep a game from getting out of hand in realism. I do believe, however, that there are a few elements that need to be improved upon which will overall make it much more realistic. For instance, I don't think the AI boxes out well enough. I'm able to grab offensive boards even when my offensive rebounding is set to lax. It shouldn't happen especially against good defensive rebounding teams. There should be more free throw attempts, the AI should try to draw fouls more (obviously ties in with the free throw attempts), if a player is hogging the ball, the offense should bog down and become mostly one-on-one affairs which would also reduce game speed. Stuff like that would go a great deal towards improving the realism in the game, IMHO. However, it doesn't have much to do with the actual speed. I really don't think the player animation speed has a big effect on how fast players run, as to how fast they recover on D or go up for rebounds and such.

Sorry, I was mistaken. It does affect the actual player's speed. Never mind what I said regarding increasing the player animation speed.
