Well, took me a while to watch the vids because I watched Dan in Real Life with my wife on cables...lol. But here's what I think: NBA 2K9 is great, and really fun to watch. NBA '09...well, I'm just not feeling this game, it's like the gameplay is old-school but TOO old-school. The commentary isn't good imo. KC and KS don't sound like they're in the game and it's like they really don't care. Is KC really a human being? I've always thought that he sounds like a robot, even on NBA ID. And to me this game has no atmosphere in it, no feeling.
But that's just me.

I dont know...Ive played both of them and I have to say 2K9 is slower. You can even see in the video everything looks a little slower pace. The players are not as smooth and as quick as they are in NBA 09

Yeah the commentary to me is a little corny but I get pretty sick of all video game announcers after about 10 games, so I usually just play with the volume real low on the Announcers and have music on or somethin. I think the gameplay is refreshingly easy on 09, I love 2k dont get me wrong, but everytime I've played NBA 09 ive had a good time especially in the life mode.

I really like the way 2K looks in the game but for presentation value nba 09 is for me. Plus in the life mode the cut scenes look great as well.

Yeah the commentary to me is a little corny but I get pretty sick of all video game announcers after about 10 games, so I usually just play with the volume real low on the Announcers and have music on or somethin. I think the gameplay is refreshingly easy on 09, I love 2k dont get me wrong, but everytime I've played NBA 09 ive had a good time especially in the life mode.

I dont have a problem commentary. I feel like its just about right. There is alot of video games out there that bug the heck out of me half way through. They say the same stuff over and over or they say the wrong things at the wrong time. NBA 09 seems to be cool so far for me.
How do you think the commentary/music compares to 2k9?

I think games are more fun when you play against friends. You can get a little more into it. I dont think music or voice work makes or breaks a game but I think it adds to it. Makes it more real and interesting.

NBA live has something similar to the life mode where you just play as one player for a exhibition game and build his stats up but it is not nearly as deep a mode or fun of a experience as the life mode imo.

Yeah my settling factor in all of this, as I post in these threads is pretty simple. 2k is great for simming and realism, 09 is really fun and enjoyable. So if you are interested in having a real competitive online league www.theotherseason.com and 2k sports is for you. But if you're interested in a rewarding personal experience with a sick story mode www.stepinsidethelife.com NBA 09 it is. Personally I was interested in both, so i got them both

Before these games really came out I only looked for 2 things: How fun the game was, and also how strong and real the graphics looked. I guess people are more picky w/these games because theres 3 to pick from.
This is the first time I really looked into more than just those few things. The Life mode sort of sold it for me I guess. I wanted something the others didnt have.
After I get these games every single year I look forward to the next year wayyy to quick. Anyone else do that?
