LIVE IS EASIER TO PLAY and that is why most of you like it if I'm reading the posts correctly.....I'm just wondering why its so hard to be honest about that, if thats why you like, then just admit it. There's nothing wrong with that, I like Live too......Is it better than 2K? Yeah right, but its getting there....

I'm definitely interested in renting it for myself, a couple of my friends have it and Ive played it enough....I'm interested in the 5 on 5 because I love it on 2K but it never works and 2K's entire online interface is a mess.

You seem to be confusing more intuitive controls with being easier, and seem to think being more complex means more realistic. Which is simply not the case.

I know people need to hang on to 2k being the be all end all in their minds, but for a large portion of us, that's simply no longer the case.

Also agree with BK, although I enjoy 2k9 an awful lot, I seem to be having a blast with 09..over and over. Not to say 09 plays more of a sim game, but I think they both play a great game of ball, just different.

And when you play something to death the next iteration of it has to be big whioch isn't the case for many of 2k fanbase right now.

Live's a breath of fresh air for many at this point and it took the right time to improve upon itself to make it a viable option for the many already dissapointed with 2k9...

THAT siad, can't complain myself about either game. NBA live is a big step in the right direction and just enough of a upgrade over 08 that i will continue to enjoy it.

If you played NBA 2k8 do not bother with 2k9.
If you played NBA Live 08 BUY NBA LIVE 09!

The difference is much greater in NBA Live 09 as far as improvement.

NBA live 09 is missing many flowing animations and realistic player models, but does everything else perfectly fine.
2k went from an A- to an A
Live went from an F to a C+

so yeah, Live improved more, but it's still years behind.

Just wanted to know what exactly do you mean by saying Live 09 is the best option as it is more Next Gen oriented? I've seen you post this before, I'm just curious (and interested) as to what you are talking about.

just look at the features and how the players interact. Live 09's players are actually more life-like.

Re: For those with Live AND 2k9..a question.

Have both games and I've played both about the same amount. I'll be keeping both of them so that I have a change of pace between games and because I like/dislike both of them for different reasons. When I'm in the mood for an NBA game, it's tough to decide which one to play. I like that. Competition is good.

*IMO 2K9 is closer to a sim.

*I like the matchups, subs, plays, tendencies on the D pad. I can change tactics on the fly. In live I have to go the menu for certain things.

*Graphics are great in both games. There's no point in saying one is better than the other because it's all in one's opinion.

*Adaptive AI in 2K is much better.

*Player controls in Live are tighter.

*TV style presentation is much better in 2k.

*I like the 2K commentary better.

*Live is more fun to play.

*The DNA feature in Live will be AMAZING (if it works properly!) when the season starts. I can't wait to see how the individual styles of play will differ throughout the year.

                        *More features in Live

*I hate the fact that I can't choose Double Team a player in the paint only in Live.

*I love the fact that in Live I have Loose, Medium, and Tight defensive options for coverage. In 2K it's either Tight, Sag Off, or Auto.

*Live needs a Deny The Ball option for defense.

*The sub patterns in Live are just inexcusably awful.

*The CPU rarely calls TO's in Live.

*Haven't seen a traveling call in Live, but I have in 2K.

*2K blows away Live in the animations department.

*The rebounding in Live still needs work.

*There is an obscene amount of clipping animations in both games.

*In Live my defenders just stand around in the post.

*With slider adjustments, either game can be arcade or more like a SIM with believable stats.

*I prefer the colors in Live

*There are better camera angles in Live.

*I like the LT quick replay option in Live.

I STILL could not decide which one to get! My wife tells me to hurry the f**k up ....so I choose Live....My wife then stops to look at some camera batteries. I say hold on....and go back and get NBA 2k9 LOL...its crazy! I was still at home last night thinking should I open this or go back and get live. I decided to open it and it was pretty the game I expected it to be....2k8.5....which is ok since I loved 2k8. The main reason I decided to put Live back and buy 2k9 was because I just could not get over how ugly some of the player models looked AND how stiff some of the animations were on the Live demo compared to 2k9.

I will say this however.....I am kind of missing Quickstrike/Anklebreaker control, the pick and roll button, and the ability to drive into the lane....draw defenders in and kick it out to the open man (everybody is sticking to their man like glue in 2k9)......

....if I am somehow able to master this thing they call ISOMOTION , I may be able to enjoy 2k9 alittle better....but I have to admit, I enjoy reading in the Live Forum here at OS alot more than reading in the 2k9 forum....people in this forum seem to be having more fun with Live than 2k's group.

I am still contemplating taking 2k9 back to get Live...althought I am sure Circuit City won't accept my game since I opened it already? Worse comes to worse, I will just bring it to Gamestop for store credit towards Live.

Thats how I got 2k9...had Live and literally changed my mind while waiting line.
I tried to return 2k9, but of course nope.

Unless you sell it on ebay or something, the best u will do is $35.00 at Blockbuster.
I rented Live and I really enjoy it.
