    The better single player exp.?

Don't post much, have not bought a video-basketball-game in a long while.Like almost a decade.

Will not be playing online much, just wondering if anyone can tell me, what has the better single-player stuff.

Like in either 2K or Live's franchise, which one is more realistic in how the A.I. does trades, picks award winners, signs free-agents. etc. etc.

    Thanks in advance.

I am getting great results in 2k, after putting help d strength at 0 and changing coach profile help d at no less than 75 for every team. Read youngn post in sliders section. It will tell you why you have to do this. Live is good to but the lack of fast breaks and some horrible animations have lead me to put this game on ice for now.

Do you care a lot about graphics? If yes, get 2k. If no, Live is the better game.

      Peace

I would say Live for single player. IMO 2K is only good for online leagues, the AI is pretty single minded in its attack and edits more extensive than im willing to go through are required to change it.

These issues are fixable with a couple quick downloads: Os Outsiders roster and BL Sim Sliders. After that, the game plays GREAT.

PC version = too much work

When I had the 360 version, even with the Outsiders rosters and blightning's sliders I wasn't feeling the gameplay vs AI. Maybe I was spoiled by the OS sim league I was in.

IMO, no single player experience can compare to being in a league with sim players, or being in a 5 on 5 with sim players. The online game is very good for 2k9 this year.

Re: The better single player exp.?

I quit my leagues for 2K9 because I can't stand playing that game one-on-one anymore. The movement is terrible and unless you're just controlling one guy the whole time in Team-Up, it's gotten intolerable for me. So yeah, I've been playing NCAA 09 and Live offline and have been having a great time. NCAA would be my pick for most fun offline because of the variety in team styles offered there compared to Live (where most teams/players play basically the same).

I was in the best sim league in 2K9 too, I just can't get down with this half-completed game anymore. At least you can walk to a spot of your choosing in Live/NCAA -- 2K9 you crossover twice and turn the other direction half the time.. so annoying. The most basic element of control (being able to walk under control and stop where you want to) is COMPLETELY missing in 2K9 and I'll never forgive them for it.

Word. It seems blasphemous to say, but Live really has the better gameplay. I got 2k for PC for 20... and I keep trying to play it because it looks so awesome (graphically), but it's just stale. I have worked on sliders to make cpu vs cpu play realistic to watch... that's about the best I can do.

furthermore, I am more excited for LIVE 2010 than I am for NBA 2k10.

Yeah, there's things that really bug me about Live (rebounders jumping the wrong way is #1), but it plays more solidly online and offline in my experience. You can actually out-execute cheesers a lot of the time if you have a nice playbook, and it feels great beating someone that way, especially since it's basically impossible to counter some of the cheese they try in 2K9.

One thing I will say, I like 2K's Association more than Live's Dynasty. Just seems like there is more in 2K's version of a franchise mode.

I do have control problems with 2K though, so I'll echo what Stumbleweed said.

If you can find you a copy, I say that College Hoops 2K8 offer the best single player experience for basketball games.
