2K or Live? Which b-ball game has beter gameplay?

I love NBA live's roster updates, but sometimes the gameplay pisses me off. (Mostly the defensive A.I.) And how players like Kobe and Lebron can drive to the hoop so easy. What do you guys think? 2K or Live? Which is the Better all-round game? Graphics, game play, ETC?

2k9 wins in the graphics department i'd def say and their crowds are bettter but live wins with the automatic roster updates because nba 2k9's living roster thing isnt that great, it seems to me they only update when someone is injured or every 2 weeks or so and i agree with you on koby and james on live.. they make them so hard to stop its kinda unfair.. i mean everyone now is a lakers fan on LIVE and seems everyone wants to give the ball to koby all the time ..its funny because last season this time ( at the beginning of the season) no one cared about using the lakers on live and now everyone is on the bandwagon... but i'll say both games have their likes and dislikes but with graphics i gotta go with nba 2k9 def.

I guess it depends on what you like. If you play online, I would say 2K9. But, if you don't Live is definitely better in the gameplay department. I recommend highly L4D's Sliders, and putting the game at 10 minute quarters and run your dynasty. Sure, it's not a perfect game with the lack of animations and all, but for me it is far superior to 2K's foot sliding, and lack of collision detection, lack of spacing, etc.

2k hands down. The gameplay is better and the atmosphere of the game is great also. I just cant sit through a game of live. its not realistic to me.

Both aren't that good this season...but there's no question 2K is a hell of a lot more 'complete'.

I played LIVE for the first time in weeks last night and hit 7 three pointers with Ben Gordon...all of which were unguarded as the CPU was double teaming Joaquim Noah

Kind of silly.

LIVE has amazing potential for 2010 though. It's a long way from complete at the moment.

2k is starting to drive me nuts with the lack of true on the ball defense. The only defense that takes place is a steal or blocked shot, jumpers rain down even with the hands up on the face. Anyway, I am looking for a babalnced game that is sim in nature, I know that may be too much to ask because these games have to appeal to the masses, not us ol' heads whio want realism over the killer crossover every trip down court.

I traded in 2K two days ago for Live. I bought both when they came out. There was something about Live that I didn't like so I traded it in for COD W@W and I was fine. After 2 months of trying to get the cpu to stop throwing passing through my players I got fed up. No spacing in 2k also hurts the mid range game. 2K wins on so many levels but, the ball clipping through my players drove me crazy.

I traded 2k in the other day for Live and I have found that I am enjoying myself more and more. I haven't messed with the sliders at all. I'm having fun again like I did with NBA Live 95. Live does have it's clipping issues but, the cpu isn't trying to back door you to death on every play. In Live the cpu actually will carry out its play but, if they need to go one on one in a given situation they will.

In 2K I felt like I was trying everything in my power to stop the cpu from throwing back door passes. IMO that's not basketball. The NBA game is all about taking advantage of the situation and IMO 2k was taking advantage of my CPU AI teammates lake of a torso. Sorry that's the only thing I could think of.

To sum up: To the OP, rent both, gamefly, play the demos etc... play the games and find out which game is for you. You may find that you don't like either and you like NBA 09 from Sony better... Ok... I kid, I kid. Seriously, find out for youself. Both are the same price right now but, you can find both on eBay and Amazon for probably $25.

i prefer live because of its outstanding graphics that makes you feel like you're the one playing in the game.
