So I played the demo to give it a fair shake, and the first thing I noticed was how unbelievably realistic the arena sounds were for the Staples Center. I live out in LA, and I have gone to many games, and I watch every Laker game on TV. Live has got it down pat. I was grinning from ear to ear hearing all the correct sound effects after I hit a three with D-Fish, or the defensive chants, etc. This really brings the game to life for me. Then I went back to play the 2k demo, and none of the arena sounds are correct, and it was kind of like a disconnect for me. I realized that I could never go back. Luckily, Live plays a pretty good game of bball as well to satisfy me. The spacing and flow just feels better on Live, plus it is a fresh approach, and I am just tired of the same old 2k.
So, I am back. I am buying Live and I am going to give it a real shot. I will still buy 2k as well and play that one, but I am going with Live first and I am going to give it the most attention. I need a fresh feeling game- and once the atmosphere in the demo hooked me, there was no going back.
Does anyone feel the same as I about the organic arena sounds? This was a much needed addition to Live, and it trumps 2k for that reason. I had no idea how important that was to me until I experienced it for myself. And thanks to the Czar for opening up my eyes!
