Also, I really want to buy Live for the Dynamic Season, but something has me going back to the 2k demo more. I can't say it is anything in particular though.

A few thoughts
Last night I asked my wife to watch me play both demo's since I am having a hard time deciding which game to get. She has no gaming experience by the way. She said 2k looked like you were watching a game, and Live looked like a video game. Just wanted to share the neutral observation.

Re: A few thoughts
Must say one thing... You and I both did the same thing. My wife and I always watch basketball games (well, she watches the games I am watching) and I told her to watch me play both demos and I got the same response you got.
Her exact words were: "Hmm, you can get the two of them if you want to, but if your choice came down to one then buy 2K because it looks like you are watching a real game. Live looks okay, but it looks like a video game more than the real thing."
I must say I agree with both of our wives, but I am still debating which one to get. -
Re: A few thoughts
that is the usual opinion to be totally honest. 2k's realism is a lil better than lives.. But we must remember that we are buying a videogame. So does that in itself make it better? that is where the actual person comes in... What are u leaning too? I respect either one. I just dont like i guess when someone says that live is "more sim like" than 2k or that 2k doesnt have many canned animations.Comment

Re: A few thoughts
Yo the funny thing is, when my roommates and I our playing and people walk in, i swear like 90% of the time someone will say "whose Playing?" thinking its a real game...2K def has the visual realism down pact, especially on a nice size HDTVComment

Re: A few thoughts
Yeah, 2k has always had impressive realism in their game.
I remember last year during the playoffs I was playing a game on 2k9 online one night (I was my Rockets, the other guy picked the Lakers, of course) and my roommate walked in and got confused because he thought the Rockets were actually playing lol
He sat down and asked what the score was, and then after a few minutes he was like, "Oh, this is a video game?"
That's how good 2k has always looked.Comment

Re: A few thoughts
From a presentation point of view then yes 2k looks better than Live. But up close and faces Live has the edge. Ray Allen doesn't look so bad in the presentation view for 2k, but close up he is hideous. Im still angry about that. Lives faces are very good.I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.Comment

Re: A few thoughts
There is a give & take though. Live faces look better but lack emotion.
It's whatever your preference is.Comment

Re: A few thoughts
This pretty funny because I also involved my wife in my decision making between the two games. I did not get either demo. What I did was simply give her all the new features from both games. I told her what was being added this year. I did let her watch videos of both games. For her, it was hands down 2k10. Then she ask, which one is Kobe on. We both like him BTW.....
Just to add, she hates that "Its in the game" from EA. That had nothing to do with her decision.Comment

Re: A few thoughts
I did the same with my fiance but, I didn't ask her to come over. She happend to walk in the game room and see the tv and asked "who's playing, I didn't think basketball started already?" I told her it was a video game she said 2k def looked real.Moderator

Re: A few thoughts
Yes, from a distance it looks like a broadcast. As someone sitting in front of the TV PLAYING, NO it does not look like a broadcast.
Does it play like a real broadcast game? NO
Should you buy one over the other based on which looks closer to a broadcast? Not if you're a basketball fan and you want to PLAY a basketball simulation.Comment

Re: A few thoughts
I'm hearing a lot of 2k is for watching and Live is for playing on some of the other threads. I agree that Live isn't the best game to look at, but the control and options on offense make this game a hell of a lot of fun to play. Just my 2 cents, Peace........Comment

Re: A few thoughts
I would agree with everyone that 2K looks better. But, when you listen to Live in another room. It sounds like a game is on TV.Comment
