Re: Would a Euro-league game work?
I would love it. I've done a Euroleague roster for nba2k8 and 2k9 so yeah for sure. I dont think it would sell though unless it was done like the EA NHL series does with the European Leagues and includes them as a special feature with their own league(s). It'd be awesome if you could play as the Israeli or Greek leagues and play your league as well as your euroleague match ups or just go through a euroleague schedule. I'd love it if the 2k series (or live i dont care which) would implement a FIFA thing with the various leagues and cups.
I really wanted to do a Euroleague roster with the CHoops but only being able to assign certain numbers killed that.As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!" -
Re: Would a Euro-league game work?
Well you would have 2 big issues:
1. Name recognition will be a issue.
2. Underage players would be exempt.I dont remember there names but they were allot of fun....Comment

Re: Would a Euro-league game work?
Would be cool if they could add a few leagues from around the globe.
You could have a my player mode from the age of 14 and play in the euroleague then get drafted to the nba. Or take a unknown team from one of the leagues and make it a powerhouse , afterwards you could display your dominance in a champions league including the champions from all other leagues even the nba. Imagine being so succesfull that you could be lobbying for players like lebron james to play in Europe.
Will never happen but one can always dreamComment

Re: Would a Euro-league game work?
Im happy with the national teams in NBA Live but it would be cool if they included some leagues like they do in the NHL series.MLB: Texas Rangers
Soccer: FC Dallas, Fleetwood Town
NCAA: SMU, UTA
NFL: Dallas Cowboys
NHL: Dallas Stars
NBA: Dallas Mavericks
I own a band check it outComment

Re: Would a Euro-league game work?
Yeah I really wish NBA2K had the national teams like Live does. I also agree that I'd bet Euro-league squads would likely have to be piggy-backed on an NBA game, like extras. I agree it'd be cool though. But seriously, I'd be fine if 2K could manage to plug national teams on there somehow (though I've been told they do not hold the rights).Comment

Re: Would a Euro-league game work?
There is a great mod for NBA 2k on the PC.
I don't think it would sell in the U.S. but overseas on the PC...maybe. Is there a licensed basketball game anywhere else in the world?Comment

Re: Would a Euro-league game work?
A euro-league game can work, but will be very shallow unless there are local leagues, cups, uleb cup (or whatever they calling it these days).
It can be done in a generic way like they do college games (Arenas, player types - choops has 300+ schools). But its a different world out there. Every league has its own rules,relegation/promotion, qualifying for european cups are part of it.
You can't recruit or draft, instead you sign players or raise them. There are times where you have to pay a price to the ball-club to get a certain player. So economics plays a bigger role then NBA because youre not limited with a salary cap. So better teams have more cash, therefore they have better players.
There is more to add, but a bball game based on europe wont sell.Comment

Re: Would a Euro-league game work?
In a nutshell..
Only way this works is if it's packaged with an NBA game (like it is with Live), but it needs to be fleshed out. I've never touched the FIBA side of Live but I'm pretty sure it's not as in depth as it should be.

Re: Would a Euro-league game work?
The FIBA squads feel really tacked on in NBA Live. Whenever I play with them, I can't help but get the feeling they were just an afterthought. It's the exact same thing as playing an NBA game, only with different names and subpar skills for the most part. EA did not in any way capture the feel of International basketball.Comment
