For the first time...

[WTF]

For the first time, I've not been able to play either NBA title for enjoyment. I have sold both of the games, after trying nearly all slider sets, roster tweaks, default, with patch, without patch.. everything.

I just wonder if I'm outgrowing sports gaming in general, or if it's just that this years bball titles were mediocre at best.

Looking at the upcoming games, I'm not really even excited about next years titles either. I was going through my head thinking about what could make next years titles appealing enough for me to sit down and play like I used to.

The only thing that I could think of, was the way that offball movement occurs in the old Live's. Where they did the 10 man mo-cap stuff, and players actually ran to their spots, instead of jogging lightly. Watching guys run off of screens, and get to their spots was nice, and I think that it would make the games a little more fun. It takes way too long for the offense to set up in both games this year.

Still yet, my OS brethren... I think my NBA gaming days are numbered, as badly as I hate to say it.

I'm looking forward to two games right now, and neither are sports games.

Anyone else feeling this way?

I though it was just me, but I am right there with you. It's not that the games are terrible either but I just can't get into them.

I think I am feeling like 23 is feeling about games in general. I am either just bored with them or just out growing them.

No its not just you

There was a definite excitement upon releases but alot of ridiculous bugs and stuff that should have never happened did and we had to deal with it.

The NCAA customers got screwed the worst but the warning signs were there.

I can definitely understand you guys frustration. The only hoops game I've been able to play is NBA 2K10, but it's been a love/hate relationship with that game.

Started off with 2K on launch day, liked it for about three days before the non-existent paint defense got to me. I stopped playing it for a while until the first patch came out. Everything was smooth until those disgusting in-air collisions got to me. After some adjustments/playing people I know, I play it at least a few times a week.

Ended up renting Live. That game has great gameplay, but it is nowhere near deep enough.

NCAA 10 was absolute crap, after some adjustments it felt good but there are too many problems. The freezing/no patch just topped it off.

This was definitely a bad year for sports gaming, hopefully next year will be better (but I doubt it).
