I'm thinking about getting an NBA Game. Which one should I get?

I'm looking to buy an NBA game, but I haven't played many of them. A little Live and 2K, but really it's been very very little.

What I like in these games:

Reasonable Controls: I don't want to have to look at the game manual every 30 seconds for the first few games when playing. I want a game that has a manageable control scheme, possibly with the right stick controlling crossovers instead of shots, but this isn't mandatory.

Stoppable Star Players: Kobe Bryant has had 15 point games in his career. It's true. I understand that these players need to be able to take over games, but I'd also like them to be stoppable. It seems like every time I play Kobe in any game I can't find any way to stop him. I don't want to play immortals, it's not very fun

Intangibles: Outside of gameplay I'd like to see some cool Franchise mode features or other mini games.

Please don't promo for your favorite game just because you hate the other ones. I just want some constructive feedback so I can find a good game for me.

    Thanks
    Predictions:

Nebraska Football: 12-2 (Big Ten Runner-Up & Capitol One Bowl Champions)

Kansas City Chiefs: 10-6 (1st in AFC West)

I'd say 2K10 is a bit complicated for a starter and takes some time to master/learn. The controls can be annoying sometimes, which is why people keep asking for more responsive/accurate controls. Just my 2 cents.
    My Specs:

    ZX Spectrum
    CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
    GPU: Monochrome display
    RAM: 48 KB
    OS: Sinclair BASIC

I'd direct you towards NBA Live 10 for straightforward controls (with some added depth should you look into them) while 2K10 runs away with the intangibles (depth of its franchise mode along with the My Player mode & Dunk/3-Point contests).

Stoppable stars? I haven't played much 2K10 but in Live 10, stars can be up & down.

June is really no man's land for buying NBA games though. I want to throw out there waiting until October for the next year's games or at least September for the demos.
