    What if both games suck?

Every year I've given both 2k and Live a try, but since I'm older now and I can tell what to expect by looking at a video/demo, I've been able to get one on launch day and pick up the other one for cheap later. In all of the recent years, I've always had an idea of which game I was going to get by this point.

But right now, both of them look really bad.

You guys can say what you want about 2k being perfect and Mike Wang being a genius, but it hasn't changed at all if you ask me. And that's not to mention that I am not sure if they have fixed their weak servers.

Live is going in a direction that I can respect, but their game looks awful. It looks like a huge regression. There are some parts that I like, but it's probably the ugliest next gen game I've seen... to the person who said it looks like Sony's game... it does in that it seems generic.

Is anyone here thinking this might be a year where both games are just not worth it? If so, what are you going to do... buy the game you bought last year and stick it out? Buy both games? Neither? Stay playing last years game...?

I might just play college hoops 2k8 or something. I'll make a final decision with the demos, but it's looking bleak to me.

Well if you or anyone else already fixed it in your mind that both games are going to suck based off the footage weve seen...then I doubt that will change at release. I say save yourself the trouble and just buy CH2K8 now.

If both games suck then we'll all have a lot more free time. Free time for everyone! Yeah!

If both games suck then that means we have more time to play real ball.

Then I'll stick with CH2K8 for the fourth straight winter.

To me, both pro games have been ho-hum at best the last two years. I'm hoping 2K11 bucks the trend and gets us back on course. I'm confident it will.

Oh man I sure hope not I've been in a bball hell these past few years lol! Each game has had its fun parts but there was always something that would just frustrate the hell out of me after 3 or 4 straight games.

I hope both of these games can bring something respectable to the floor this year in terms of gameplay.

Yeah the games have been okay but just don't hold my attention at all. I have given up on the new pro games before Christmas in each of the last two years before picking them up again in May/June during the playoffs.

If both games suck I guess I will play the 1 that sucks the least,LOL. I would go back to 2k8 versions which i loved but after playing NCAA last year i can't bring myself to play it. Yes NCAA had some issues but cour spacing and play calling pluss the atmosphere i just loved. I plan on keep NCAA in case i need it to play some college ball. Between 2k11 and Elite I preordered 2k11 but if it sucks and 3 point big man glitch is there with poor sim results it will be gone very quickly. Then I might take a look at elite if there sim stats are right. I am OCD about stats so i was pretty much screwed with the BS 2k and Live put out last year.

I came to this conclusion the last 2 years and decided not to buy neither game after playing both demos.

Re: What if both games suck?

I just want something that I can play competitive online 5 on 5 that is not laggy, reliable, and not too glitchy. If I wanted to play offline, I would play college hoops.

I mean, yeah, you can say just play real ball but I like to unwind while playing some video game ball. You can get a game at almost any time where as it's not always easy to round up a 5 on 5 game.

But with 2k11 people are already talking about some spin glitch... the thing I hated most about 2k online is that it seemed like they had a realistic game overall but they didn't give you the tools to stop the really overpowered stuff.

In Live, there is overpowered stuff, too, but it's somewhat more containable. Of course, someone who is good at it will still own you... but at least you can stop them a few times then call them a clown after the game.

And if the spin move is anything like previous 2k spin moves... that really makes me sad.

Truth. I hope everyone finds something for them this year, but I know that'll never happen. Selfishly, I can say I'm pretty certain I'm going to be quite satisfied with my choice this year. After all, I loved NBA2K10 and 2K11 is appearing to be a Super2K.

2K11 will have to have something seriously wrong with it in order for me to declare that it sucks. It'd likely have to burn down my XBox. Only at that point may I reconsider my purchase.
