    Basketball games for mac

    Any ideas?

Would love a management game of sorts. I've played DDS:PB and DDS:CB both through bootcamp but i'd love if those games ran natively on mac OSX.

I think the market for a basketball management/sim game might be there. Especially for a guy like me, as I get older it's harder to play the games (with all the fancy moves and such) but i'm a total sucker for managing teams and stuff.

Which is why i loved college hoops 2k8 and loved DDS:CB.

I agree there's a market for a Basketball management game for the Mac. Haven't played DDS:PB & CB but they look interesting, maybe they'll port them to Mac if there's enough interest as I don't think there's any Basketball games available - either commercial or freeware/open source. Abit off topic but whilst looking for free Mac games I found one called Out of the Park 8 (baseball sim) which is here

Yeah i've downloaded and played out of the park. It made me wish i was a hardcore baseball junkie......but alas......i am only a hardcore basketball junkie.

a game along similar lines to that (which i suppose is what DDS:PB and CB are aiming for) would be excellent.

It seems that different world wide games get good management sims/games. Football/Soccer has one. Eastside hockey manager for ice hockey. Out of the park baseball. Doesn't american football even have one with NFL head coach (or is that a different concept?)

I have actually contacted wolverine studios in relation to porting their games onto the mac platform but they have stated that they are not currently aiming for that. However, that could change as it appears more and more, the market share of home computers is shifting to mac.

The Football Manager series of games are very good, haven't played the most recent one, but FM 10 included options which I think would work well with a basketball game, such as being able to talk to the media, talk to your scouts/coaches and communicate with your players during matches etc.

I was looking for a Basketball GM game and found one which is freeware called PCF 11 where you can manage lots of teams in Europe and in South America, Asia etc. The above link includes a way to play it on the Mac, which although it's Italian, the game itself has the option to be played in the English language.

Haven't tried PCF 11 on the Mac, but have for PC and it's good for a free game, but the NBA isn't included. Maybe someone could make a similar game based on PCF11 and the ones you've mentioned, and including the NBA and port it to the Mac. But I guess with licensing issues etc. they would have to use fictional team names/logos and maybe fictional player names too, although they could be changed with a roster editor.

<style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } A:link { so-language: zxx } --> </style> I am not interested in basketball games so I have no collections of that type of games. But I love to play time management games. Why don't you try car racing. I agree that car racing games are old and traditional but still they are in context. You should download car gaming games for Mac. It's free on several gaming sites. Try it once and you will love to play it.
