Need Some PS2 Games Help

Hey guys I'm thinking of downgrading from a PS3 to a PS2 again. Its nothing to do with Sony, I love my PS3 but money is tight and i need some extra cash, along with knowing if I got a PS2 the most Id have to pay for a game is maybe 10-15 bucks compared to a 40-60 for a new game.

I guess my question is about sports games because I plan on getting a few and I want to know which you guys would recommend. I'm a franchise guy at heart and I love the ability to play as all 32 teams on Madden. So first I'm wondering if theres any NBA either EA or 2K PS2 games that have that ability and also I'd prob be looking for a Baseball game as well with that ability. I'm not sure if they do though since MLB The Show getting all-team control was a pretty big thing last year. Also if none of the PS2 games have those features which sports games would you recommend which had a good franchise mode.

I'm not sure about controlling all teams (never tried it), but NBA 2K7, to me, is the most solid basketball games for PS2. Also NBA Live 2005 was great, but I think 2K's Franchise mode is better (but I don't remember for sure).

Also, if you have a decent PC, you can play the recent 2K's. I found a new 2K9 sold here at Zellers for $9.99.

Remember that couple of years old titles for PS3 are pretty cheap. I think 2K9 for PS3 shouldn't cost much, same with NBA Live 09. Used or new...still not that expensive.
