Yeah...okay. Thats all fine and dandy.

But the objective of them making the game in the fisr place is for it to SELL. For it to appeal to all users of the game. Maybe you arent realizing that...

    And by the way...

Not being able to pass out of layups is not realism.
Elite ballhandlers like AI, T-Mac, Kobe doing 5th grade crossovers is not realism.
Walking into Alley-Oops is not realism
180 MPH Spin Moves is not realism
Being able to use the same post move to score everytime is not realism
Getting called for charges when you make the slightest contact with a defender is not realism
The cardboard crowd is not realism

The card board crowd is gone...

And BTW I love the realism of 2K3 where Reggie Miller stands and wathces all game...and I can't get enough of Charlie Ward pulling that nasty cross over on me. You just can't beat all the guys moving like robots also...because, last time I watched an NBA game, the real dudes were just as non athletic...

I also can't get enough of the Utah Jazz fast break in Live 2003...or guys not fouling at the end of the game, because that's realistic...

Point is, they all have flaws...and at least ID has the tendancies right.

For pure control/gameplay I'd disagree. NBA2k3 is nice (I own it) and some of it's little things are really nice ( replays with the background being one color while the player is full color) but for on the court action Inside Drive 2003 was better than Live or NBA2k.

Seriously. NBA Live had NO defensive play last year, which resulted in EA going back to the drawing board and focusing on the DEFENSE being better. 2004 will see entire teams shifting the way they are suppose to on DEFENSE.

NBA2k3 had great player models and great crowds, but at times it's pace seemed very slow, and even though the animation lock was less than the previous year...animations still at times took over for actual controller input.

Inside Drive had the worst crowds last year, and IMHO it had the least attractive player models (though the texture detail was the best)...but it still doesn't have on the court competition for EA or Sega yet.

This year will be a close race, but if you're a fan of tight control, great slider options to tweak the game the way YOU like to play... well, you better grab a copy of Inside Drive 2004.
