I honestly don't see what's so great about the 2k franchise, other than its graphics and presentation. Yet you and others defend it like it's the best one, hmmm, it looks like we're at an impasse here, doesn't it? We each have our preferences, leave it at that. I think you're wrong about ID not improving though. It improves where I think it MATTERS. For instance, the difference between ID 2002 and ID 2003 is like night and day for me. I couldn't stand ID 2002 because of its excessive charges, blocked shots, and absurd speed. ID 2003 was very different, and had better AI. Its game flow was the best I'VE seen yet. To me, it doesn't seem like Visual Concepts has a true grasp of what a sim is, because NBA 2k3 isn't very good at simulating the NBA, IMHO. I think it adds a ton of features, which is commendable on their part, but their AI is deficient. I'm a person who generally enjoys playing singleplayer games, and if a game has rotten GAMEPLAY, no amount of features are going to keep me interested in the game.

By the way, I hope you're not interpreting this as an attack on you or whatever. I'm just showing you the other side of the coin, so to speak. We have a unique perspective on things, and I'm able to deal with that. I'm not trying to force my perspective on yours, I'm just saying that the ID series has what I've been looking for in a b-ball game. Live and the 2k franchise don't have it yet, but maybe this year they will. If 2k4 plays the way I hope it'll play, then I think that's a great thing. If not, there's always ID 2004 for me, and maybe even Live 2004, because I am impressed with what I've seen so far in that game. I just hope it won't disappoint.

There is a reason why 2k sells more than ID...and it isnt because of the ESPN presentation.

Yeah, there is a reason why 2k sells more than ID, there's also a reason why 2k sells LESS than Live.

Id's a console-exclusive title. It doesn't have a good presentation, nor does it have good graphics. But there are quite a few people who think it's the best b-ball game yet. Why can't you people accept that there are opinions differing from your own? I've stopped complaining about the 2k series on the NBA 2k board. I'm taking a wait and see approach, which I suggest you guys do as well.

I already said sales have very little to do with the quality of the game. Drop it, it's not a valid argument. Even if it were, I doubt you could provide hard facts as to the sales of Id 2003 and the NBA 2k series when it was on the Dreamcast. There are a lot of factors you'd have to take into account, so it's not even worth getting into.

Why are you even debating the merits of Live, ID, and NBA 2k right now? We can get into this when the titles come out. Fact is, it's been done to death already, and I'm sick of it.

If you believe NBA 2k's better, that's your right. That doesn't mean anything to me, because I obviously don't hold the same opinion. I MAY hold that opinion when the new games are released, but right now I don't.

I liked ID 2003 better than any b-ball game so far. It has a great player editor that lets you edit player tendencies and make it play like its real life counterpart, or at least very close to it. Its off-the-ball movement is fantastic, as well as the adjustments it makes on offense and defense.

Granted, there are a few things missing in this game, such as fouls in the paint, more fouls in general, tougher D in the post, the passing is too accurate which hurts whatever good D there is.

I'd rather High Voltage fix these things than add extraneous features. I'd prefer better gameplay over better graphics. But then again, I'm not a shallow gamer, I buy my games to play them, not just look at them.
