LOL, yeah skins, I agree completely. There are quite a few new board members around this time of year that seem to come for a few weeks, and get things started, and then are no longer part of the community after the games are out for a few weeks.

Re: Why is ID not getting the hyp eof lIve and 2K
Here I was all excited to finally see an ID thread with 20 plus messages...only to find bloody JMOOD has posted his usual crap in most of them. Message son = please stay out. We all know you love SEGA and hate LIVE and ID...so stay out and enjoy ESPN
Now, back to the original post...I pretty much agree with NEO, in that I'm more excited to see ESPN and LIVE and what they've come up with.
I *know* what I'll get if I buy ID...and I i know I'll like it. The improved graphics and stadiums are enough for me. I'm dissapointed they have the same music etc playing during games, as it's beyone terrible, and I'll be dissapointed if the crowd is still asleep (it's hard to really get a gauge on this from the vids)...
Apart from that...I know the AI will be even better and the game is a safe final option if LIVE and ESPN fail again. As Neo said, LIVE seems to be getting the gameplay close...it's catching ID for play sets and off ball stuff...and, lets be realistic, LIVE kills ID for atmosphere and arena sounds etc. In other words, if the gameplay is close, i'll go with LIVE.
ESPN is hard to judge...I am hoping it's the best of all 3 and the best by a long way. It has the potential.
It also has the potential to be the worst if it comes back with the same AI flaws of 2K3.
Another thing that concerns me slightly with ID is that it seems all the MS games this year have really worked on adding the XBOX LIVE stuff...at the expense of other areas...and online play doesn't interest me personally.Comment

When did I say anything bad about live other then the something about the graphics? I haven't played it so I don't know what it's going to be like.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Why is ID not getting the hyp eof lIve and 2K
I also think that another reason for the relative low excitement over the upcomming id 2004 release is that it's only released on the xb. Espn and Live are available to a much wider number of potential consumers and will therefor generate more publicity. If id2004 was being released on ps2, gamecube and pc then more people would have had the opportunity to play/enjoy the first one.
With that being said the advertisng (or lack there of) is pretty pathetic. You'd think the fact that the game has the potential to be a system seller would promt microsoft to throw a decent advertising budget at high voltage.
I know some of you guys think the graphics in id are pretty good but i find them pretty ugly. It was by far and away the best playing nba game of last season and was therefor the only nba game i played for any considerable time. I think another reason why people get more excited about the new 2k and live series is that they have more of an opportunity to make amazing games. As stated earlier we basically KNOW what we will get from id2004 where as the other two seem to be striving to make larger scale improvements.
One thing that really killed my anticipation for id2004 was seeing that T-mac vs Lebron vid at ign. The game looked like an exact carbon copy of last years game and every single one of the four or so new dunks in the clip where in last years game. The only difference i could see was the crowd.
At the end of the day it won't mean a thing if live has 50 million gameplay options and espn has the best graphics ever seen if the gameplay dosen't even come close to id. Guess we will have to wait and see.Comment

Re: Why is ID not getting the hyp eof lIve and 2K
I hate these graphic threads. I played 2K3 last year and though it was good, very good for awhile. Yeah, when they did closeup replays, the grpahics looked good, but during the game, not really. Last year, after playing 2k3 for a couple months, I picked up ID 03 and WOW. I was honeslty blown away. I though the graphics were great, and the jukes, even if not so fancy, WORKED! And it made a differnce if you used shaq or AI! AI was so quick with the cross. These ESPN whores are really getting to me. Your game is NOT going to be that good.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment
