Ncaa Basketball 10 (question about the Range attribute)

So I noticed this attribute and I'm pretty sure I understand it. the higher the attribute is, the farther a play can shoot, I understand that much. But my question is how much does this attribute actually play a role in player's hitting outside shots? For example, I recruited a 6'7 shooting guard who was #1 in the nation and had a FG rating of 78 and a 3PT rating of 84. However, his "Range" attribute was only 13. He seemed like he shot fine (about 40 percent from three) but I'm just wondering if the Range stat was higher would he make more shots? It seems like every player who has an 80+ 3PT rating has a Range rating of 24,but this guy was well below that? I feel like I should edit this up to 24, but I don't like messing with my recruits ratings.

    what do you guys think?

I always thought range equated to a player's shooting animation.
