Anyone find player substitutions to be way off?

In my Knicks season, Allan Houston keeps on getting pulled out of the game. For LONG stretches, enough to completely turn the game around. I don't know what's up with that. I'm playing on All-star by the way. usually he gets pulled near the end of the 2nd quarter and into the 3rd quarter. Gets subbed in for a bit in the 3rd quarter and he's out for a while again going into the fourth before he's finally put in the game. And even then, the AI doesn't call a timeout just to get him back in the game, and it's enough for the other team to gain the upper hand.

Anyone else find this to be true? The players seem to get tired way too much as well. And I'm only playing 8 minute quarters on the default speed.

    I did notice that also

I play on 7 minute quarters, and sometimes JO or Al Harrington will get pulled for Austin Corshere or Jeff Foster. It really wouldnt bother me, because I do like to work my rotation, depending on the team Im playing, but like you said, they dont subsitute them back for a long period of time

This is annoying, and it does contribute to my losses. I don't understand why this happens. Star players shouldn't be pulled out for much if at all in certain games, especially when they're playing great. I guess you could fix this by editing the player's stamina or something, but it seems like a lot of teams have this problem. I even thought I might be playing the game at too high a tempo, so I decided in my latest game to slow it down. Yet, the AI still pulled Houston out. I really think one of ID 2004's main weaknesses is its substituion and it needs to be fixed for next year.

Yep! The subs are sort of whacky! I had to go to manual substitutions because I got tried of Brain Scalabrini(sp), a PF being substituted for Jason Kidd. LOL!

Yeah, that too! Man, they really need to work on the substitutions for next year. They're terrible.

And they have no bearing on how much a player exerts energy on offense or defense. It just magically saps away energy as long as the player is on the court. It's way too set in stone, IMHO.

This is really starting to get on my nerves now. Even if you manually substituted players, you're pretty much forced into subbing the scrubs in because the starters deplete their energy so quickly, and for no apparent reason. That's the major problem I have with this game right now.

Yep I would get Clarence Weatherspoon for Howard Eisley Subs and then they would put Charlie Ward at PF.
