And Monkey, I dont mind the graphics either. You just have to get used to it. Most of the stuff is hand drawn and not officially licensed I dont think. I think a lot of it is pretty creative for the most part..

Re: Come in and rate this game on a scale of 1 - 10
The graphics to me are atleast decent but I expect much better from an XBOX exclusive. The gameplay is there but the graphics including the crowds are drawbacks. Player model wise they need to fix the faces first and foremost. They need to get all the correct accessories for the players and have a lot more of them also. The jerseys look very messy and need to be cleaned up. You know what I can't understand, if you go to the high-voltage website and look at the ID 2004 screen shots the graphics look 10x better than the one's in the game now. The kobe dunking screen is nice hot as hell and you can obviously see sweat effects and really good skin texturing. The jerseys also look much cleaner and way less messy and hand drawn. If the game looked like it does in those screen shots I'd be very happy with the graphics. Even Shaq loks different and better in the screens. Makes no sense.Comment

Nope, I have an HDTV and I definitely do not see sweat effects. You know what might have happened? They might have tekan it out because of framerate issues. Just speculating of course.Comment

I give it an 8.
The graphics are bad for being an xbox exclusive. Graphics like ESPN's would do wonders for this series. Hopefully graphics is on their toplist for next year and they really go all out on them. Animations other than the dunks need to be better.

I don't mind the graphics. The player models look fine (which is my issue with LIVE, the player models look horrible). The movements are cool also.
Could they be better? Yes...and...no.
Yes, ESPN looks better...but ESPN can only be viewed from a distance due to this (I heard the frame rates were terrible, thus the camera's were "changed")
So...would I rather have ID's graphics and camera views OR espn and it's view?
After about 10 full games now, I'd rate this around 88 / 100.
The gameplay is improved on last year, which was great already...
Id just like to see them improve the crowd and arena noises / atmosphere some more
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
Graphics wont be the focus anytime soon, if you read the dev interview at gamespot. HV says they are offering a level of detail seen nowhere else. They think that ID graphics are best on the market.
BTW jjoe has a thread with a link to the old interviewComment
